  1. What if NTS Sessions consisted only of these tracks:

    1. carefree counter dronal

    2. 32a_reflected

    3. sinistrailAB air

    4. wetgelis casual interval

    5. peal MA

    6. turbile epic casual, stpl idle

    7. acid mwan idle

    8. g 1 e 1

    9. shimripl air

    10. frane casual

    11. mirrage

    12. all end

or if it was just this:

    1. bqbqbq

    2. fLh

    food for thought :cisfor:

    Devastating indictment lol
  2. The wombo combo of sinistrailAB air + wetgelis casual interval from NTS 2 is very much underrated. At a nudge over 5 minutes there is a skittering insectoid assault, until it slurps into a barren ghostly solo of future-stylophone-tech. They are the shortest pieces across all sessions, yet one cannot exist without the other in my mind.

I like that (I’m still claiming masterwork status for NTS2)
  3. Honestly, having a couple AE tracks I don’t like allows me to keep a bit of self-respect lol I like knowing Im not too far gone that I can’t discern a shit AE track. (Chimer 1-5-w/e, I’m looking at you...oops).

  4. much like elseq roughly half of this material is the coolest shit I've ever heard and the other half is stuff I don't really care to hear ever again. also like elseq I'm going to make a favorites playlist and just listen to that

“Half” is overstating it for me, but I understand the sentiment. There’s maybe 10% or 15% I don’t care for...
  5.

    Thank you, auxien!!!

    =D

A little off topic... But I think the NTS Sessions have given me a different perspective on EP7... (I mean, these Sessions have basically had that effect on all of their previous albums for me, but EP7 is the standout)

I've always liked it, but it's really hitting me hard after all this new material.

    =X

    Any time :)

I've barely touched any older AE since NTS came out, save for a few remixes or single tracks here and there. Heard lots of older albums' DNA in the NTS Sessions though for sure, I imagine there'll be a lot of people having that same reaction you're having.

Back in AE Live now...so fuckin good!
  6. i immediately understood the length of elseq songs. it seems natural with the 2 laptop generative set-up. i think you would have to end up composing songs that jam out a bit. i always considered that we're lucky as fuck to get shit like that, and that sean and bob saw that the correct thing to do was to let the people hear it. i never found them overlong.

i dropped NTS and elseq (minus all end) into a playlist and put it on shuffle today. it's basically jesus

    Yup!
  7. John Stuart Mill: "I was seriously tormented by the thought of the exhaustibility of musical combinations. The octave consists only of five tones and two semitones, which can be put together in only a limited number of ways, of which but a small proportion are beautiful: most of these, it seemed to me, must have been already discovered, and there could not be room for a long succession of Mozarts and Webers, to strike out, as these had done, entirely new and surpassingly rich veins of musical beauty."

Autechre (after nearly dying of laughter): "Hold my beer."

  8.

Elseq 2 exists for the purpose of elcy6 onset... Also: eastr was weak/boring imo (not trolling) #meshcinereal

I can understand the viewpoint. I'm all about chimer, c7b2 and eastre in 2 & 3.
Interesting that those are my least favorite on all of elseq (tho c7b7 is cool)
  9.

Relistening to ely6 onset: oceanic. So fucking good. Do yourself a favor...

This (along with 7 slip) is my favorite track across all of elseq...

Fucking insane... I love it so much.

    Yes! +mesh cinereal + feed1
