  1. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around NTS2; no way I'll be ready to cope with NTS3 (in its entirety) if it's anywhere close to the magnitude of NTS2.

Also, I just wanna take a step back and state THE basic fact: AE is releasing an 8 hour album, played live (over the net), manipulated in real time. An "8 hour album." Prolific. Smh in disbelief

  2.

Do you guys think this is just the new way they're going to do things from now on - not much marketing and pre-announcement and instead just drop a bunch of music all of a sudden through a live radio show. Or is this a sort of side-piece to their properly Warp-marketed releases? It seems too secret to be the only thing that's going to happen from now on, it's not even listed on bleep.com when normally a new AE release would be on the front page right there

well, this is called 'NTS Sessions' which implies it is some material made / curated special just for the radio show, so i don't think they consider it a new album as such like Exai was. more like some new jams for the tru fans.

i'm sure when they release a new album proper there will be the usual promotion for it.

Imo the "proper album" concept is dead. When was the last time you bought a CD? Their recent output is masterwork status. Currently, I'm adopting the theory that NTS is album 14, with AE live constituting "twelb."

  3.

"massive" seems inadequate to describe the last five minutes of violvoice. What's the next level? "Neutron star". I'm not certain light can escape from those slides - do we go "black hole"?

yeah fucking hell, it's good that there is some ambience after it because need a break after that

NTS1 was an act of courtesy in retrospect...we all would've died if NTS2 was released first lol

  4. ok, just listened to NTS2 in it's entirety for the second time all the way trough with headphones.

it's funny how i said they wouldn't exactly write operas some time back in this very thread.

    well... now they did.

    NTS2 - a space opera.

the way all of this comes together to one monumental behemoth of a record is just too fucking perfect to pick single tracks (although there are instant fav moments of course).

some times i caught myself just shaking my head uncontrollably in disbelief at the sheer accomplishment of it all.

basically it's just the best shit ever... again.

    fuk.

    Agree completely

  5. Holy shit what is happening inside of my skull?!?!

And I didn't think the digitals would be available this soon after the stream!! Fucking awesome...

    Ahhhh!!!!

This session is completely mental and I'm only 15 minutes in... =O

Same! These first two tracks ???
  6.

It would be insane if the NTS releases just kept building to greater heights

That would be an amazing accomplishment, especially if they're doing these sections are done in an ad hoc manner.

    Roll on 5pm

I'm going with the "greater heights" theory for now

  7.

Is it stupid to buy vinylz if I don't have a record player right now but plan to get one in about 4 years time when I can afford a house/man cave? sun&rahb pls.

I'm going through the exact same struggle this morning. It seems like a dumb purchase since I don't have a player (yet), but I want them and I literally want to throw my money at them. Hard. I want to hurl cash into their faces.

I bought em as collector's items (silly, right?) I still have unopened Exai and L-Event vinyl lol

  8. Anyone else get the feeling the next 3 shows will be the same as the one we have but slight tweaked ala AE_LIVE?

Maybe...but would u really be mad it that's true tho? They always defy, tease, and overexceed my expectations. #EveryTrack #EveryRelease

  9. The fluttering drumless track at 57:22 sounds like a mutation of the hyper-light speed track on the AE Live sets (10:45ish on the Grafenhsinekin set for reference). Almost like a hybrid of elseq pads and live rhythm figures/patterns...two-into-one?

  10.

    <p>

this is a small analysis ((_O_)) of the set, trying to identify the

period each track belongs to. it all seems to be around AE_LIVE, elseq

    and ae live 2016.

    • 00:01:20 - 00:18:40

pretty sure this sounds like something from the first quarter of

AE_LIVE, with some "T Ess Xi" pads in the last five minutes

    • 00:18:40 - 00:30:00

      ?

    • 00:30:00 - 00:40:30

sounds like a damn fine elseq outtake

    • 00:40:30 - 00:57:18

DOPE. could be also an elseq outtake. sounds like "latentcall"??

    • 00:57:18 - 01:02:30

elseq versions. "pendulu hv moda" lush pads

    • 01:02:30 - 01:17:30

my guess is that this is a sort of an early proto-AE_LIVE track, the

brutal one that starts @ 22:55 in the grafenhainichen set. the bass

rhythmic pattern gives it away. or also the dubby one @ 43:50 in

      grafenhainichen too.

    • 01:17:30 - 01:40:00

the beat sounds like one of the tracks towards the end on AE_LIVE2,

but the rest sounds like elseq ("pendulu hv moda"). some "Cloudline"

      in there too?

    • 01:40:00 - 01:50:30

? keep losing the 1 in this mofo

    • 01:50:30 - end

mixed in with the previous one. this is from ae live 2016

    Agreeed.
