Thanks! I'm really happy with the bass on this one. I kind of feel like I've cracked a code for that. I’ve hit a pretty good stride lately where I’m recording 3-4 tracks a week. I’m finding that I like some stuff I’ve made after the fact more than in the moment, so I decided to just record whatever I have for the day. My main issue lately is getting caught up in technical experiments that don’t result in anything. I try to look at it as learning experience, but I’d rather learn while making something. I’m being to hard on myself, though. This is the most productive I’ve been…ever, maybe? Thanks for listening.
Awesome that's great that you're feeling enthusiastic about your tunes man. Nice one!

I would let the funky bass parts bloom a bit more in the mix. Those pads are very enjoying for my ears.
Thanks man. Niceness!!! Cheers.

Happy Wednesday:
Love it man. Beats are fire!!! Only hearing it through Laptop speakers so I'm guessing there's some sub under there too. Could do with a hook otherwise very nice.

I prefer ghetto tech
I've seen that a few times. It's novel but it just doesn't sound that nice lol. These Yamaha FM synths are dime a dozen though I see them all the time in second hand ads because no one wants them!!

This looks nice apparently it's going to be 128 voice polyphony etc. Hope it's 16 part multi timbral too!!!

Wait I see it retails for £888 for Kodamo Essence FM MKII – Thomann UK. Any idea what the import tax is on this thing???

Some nice FM acid in this one :
That thing is a beast. I think it'd be ace to get one second hand for maybe £600-800 seeing as they retail for £1200!!!

This would've fit right into the crazy acid phases of Autechres mixlr shows. Love the grungy tape sound and those voice pads.
Thanks Chim!!
Anyone else enjoyed this one? Cheers.

Some more old ass breakcore I discovered on some tapes. I found the beats quite fun to listen to. I wouldn't make this style these days as its too fast for most folk but jungle is still good to go. Anyways enjoy!!!

Really old tune from 15-20 years ago. Taken from tape so you have to excuse the quality. Enjoy!!!! Made on Cubase VST with a Korg 05r/w!!!!

Yeah that's a little out of my price range lol. I may just use an extra large cable as I have a mini hifi with cassette tape player in it but its fair from the pc.

Hi guys looking for something decent to buy to play some old tapes and record stuff into Audacity. I got a shedload of old tunes on tape ha ha.

Going to try and post whatever I've got going each Wednesday for feedback here. Here's a WIP that I'm relatively happy with, but I'm not sure what direction to send it in.
Dope!!! Beats are super clear and punchy and that pad is nice too. Love the cut up edits really enjoyed it. Progresses nicely - you're producing some tasty little tunes dude.

First tune has a nice riff but imo seems a bit slow for folks to dance to lol. I like the pads. I like the riff on top from 5 mins onwards - nice. Involves pretty nicely although it takes its time. I reckon I could play a faster and shorter version of this defo in a set. Those pads have an almost 80s film sci fi film flavour to them but positive.
Listened to them although I'll be honest I did skip through them my fav is the first one.
Just feel these need to be a bit faster overall.
Nice stuff tho.

If you're still working on Italo House tune, maybe introduce a part with a different melody and chords for variety?
That's the plan for sure! I always get a bit stuck how to progress things though.

Wow I love Lone. Never thought this sounded like him though. Thanks though dude!

would love to know if you find this entertaining
https://soundcloud.com/a_hank/wgwfwdgaf/s-qaCjdsH8lo4Love that bassline ... really off-kilter kinda deranged style lol. Yeah this is my type of vibe. Techno! Not totally sure if all the music sits perfectly together but its pretty fresh. Didn't find it repetitive. Interesting little addition of some amen some snares at the end. Overall liked it but perhaps felt it was a bit too fussy and too much going on it parts maybe. Personally would like to have heard it striped back more with just the bassline and a few elements. I found it a lot to take on all at once. I'm glad you posted it here though!

I'm very interested in the Arturia Microfreak - anyone got one? I think there's quite a few decent budget synths these days that are either in the market or coming to.

You should pitch that track to one of those retro game developers, sounds perfect. Not too keen on the "flute" sound that pops up towards the end, but the rest is cool.
Thanks man some food for though eh. Cheers!!

Soundcloud vs Youtube?
in EKT General Discussion

I'm tending to prefer Youtube these days for uploading tunes. I know its a bit of a pain having to create a video even its basic but I'm finding the audience is bigger etc and there's no limit. I'm just not seeing a huge benefit in Soundcloud much anymore. Certainly not prepared to pay £7.50 when I already have a Youtube Premium account!!! Thoughts???
