Trackers are a huge shift from midi/piano roll. I started with trackers first and only in the last few years 'migrated' to piano roll editing through Ableton (still prefer trackers mind).

Start with just triggering samples first and then worry about the command column a bit later

    Thanks man.

Can't you just use the ProTracker commands? http://coppershade.org/articles/More!/Topics/Protracker_Effect_Commands/

For cutting up breaks you basically just need the set sample offset command 9xx combined with the note on that line.

Right that makes no sense to me ? but I'll give it a go and if I get stuck I'll come back to you if that's okay! Thanks.

    Ahh, Amiga. Here's my A2000, still working after 30+ years. A2630 030/882 @ 25MHz, 128M Fast/1M Chip + other goodies. I've got a ZZ9000 I haven't yet installed, that's going to be a cool upgrade.

    Can't see the picture lol.

Lol iPad is some fertile ground for making music. The only difficulty is limiting yourself. There are so many great options, but a good starting point is just get korg gadget and go off.

ive made tracks that have turned into music distributed by rubadub on the iPad.

beatmaker 2 is my fav all time app, followed by maybe korg gadget. I’ve been into iOS music making for probably 10+ years though, because I had an iPhone before I had any gear.

Good stuff. BM2 is a great app. I'm using BM3 at the moment. Made this little techno jam on it actually!

ew, no. iPad app? for making music? i’ve tried that multiple times. no thanks.

heard good about the Electribes and i’d considered some of the old ones years ago but not for me. if the drumlogue is carrying some past lessons from them tho that could be good for sure

Yeah the ipad is difficult for making music - I can contest to that. I've made many tunes using the ipad though but yeah in itself without any knobs to use or a proper keyboard its a pain!

Based on this picture it might only have four analog voices, two of which are toms, which sounds a little lame... Still looking forward to see more, and the digital side is what I'm really interested in.

A little project I've been working on in between writing my own stuff.

I've always been fascinated with SAW 85-92 and how it was created, as there's not a whole lot of info about it on the internet.

I thought it would be a fun challenge to try to recreate some of the tracks to maybe find out myself, through trial an error, how some of it was made.

I'm confused they sound exactly like the originals lol. How on earth is this possible??? Impressive but confused. ?

  7. I enjoy the process usually. Sometimes I get down though when I'm working on something and the vibe that I'm aiming for just doesn't materialize. Usually it'll be late at night but I haven't done any music for months now because Ableton Live is no longer free to use but when I get the money to pay for it I'll be back in the seat making some beats!!
