Preparing myself for Dragon Quest XI... perfect for after work/dinner when I have an hour or so to spare before bedtime.
Seems I'm getting a copy of it on PC. I still have the two 3DS ones tucked away (VII & VIII), but I won't be able to resist firing up the first non-handheld singleplayer DQ since VIII on PS2. Feels like a perfect game to roll into the Autumn/Winter with!

Shame we didn't get some more location-specific live shirts, the Japan one was nice

ele-king interview (Japanese)
Sean: "I thought that no one thought that we would spend 8 hours on the new Autechre songs. Because it is absurd. So I did it (laugh)."
''The cloud in Tokyo is always quiet. It really listens.''
Google translated Auteka interviews are always a trip...

I realise it's gone through the translate grinder, but loffle regardless:
"Is it true that you once broke a trailer with the Boards Of Canada just to steal some champagne?Rob: True!Sean: It was a festival in Germany that had been canceled due to bad weather. There was mud everywhere, so we found ourselves segregated backstage, with no chance to play and above all without alcohol. They did not want to bring us a drink, okay? So we attacked the beverage caravan. I was stressed, I wanted a fucking drink and these were the assholes of the festival. I stole a bowl of champagne, for everyone's happiness. They kept her locked up for some kind of rapper. But since no one showed up, they were hoping to sell it, 'these assholes that not even the logistics had managed to manage.Rob: And then comes the part of wrestling. What part of wrestling?Sean: Do not listen to Rob, he says bullshit.Rob: Let's say that after the theft there was a fight, which because of the mud seemed wrestling. I only remember the laughter."*Beverage Caravan* -

Not my snap as I had binned off my order for the Japanese CD edition, was a bit surplus to requirements other than being a fun curio (and no bonus track to be found). Turns out it doesn't come with a nice chunky obi strip after all, just a sticker to denote its non-domestic status. I even suspect with the placement of that sticker that it's just a rebagged copy of the domestic release anyway... so no great loss.
Confirmed my suspicions:
No evidence of a unique Beat Records ID which is usually found on Japanese Warp releases. Looks like Warp just shipped 500 copies over to bag and slap stickers on.
At least they threw in a liner notes booklet...

Heads-up for Switch folks, Hollow Knight is getting a 34% off discount today (should be on the hour, actually). Can only confirm for UK but will probably apply to at least Eurovania as well.

I’ll be headed to Gamescom in a week to show off the game I’ve been working on for about a year. Pretty excited about this.
Good luck! By all accounts Gamescom is a bloodbath on the public-attending side of things, hope that doesn't spill over for yourself.
Gamescom is fucking killing me. So many bad BOs and farts and my bed is a like a god damn rock.

Any photos I've seen posted of the vinyl box have that curve on the upper left as you look at it stood up and side-on. I think it's as 'perfect' as you'll get, tDR just couldn't contain all those gonks and casuals...

Majority of folks who buy vinyl these days don't even have anything to play it on, which is why this new wave of vinyl fetishism by the masses continues to leave me perplexed.

Curious if it was mastered a lot differently for the wax release. Not sure why you'd want to listen to a 100% digitally produced ae sesh on wax that you have to go and turn around every now and then, this is play and zone out stuff for me personally. Not shitting on vinyl at all, just slightly confused.
It's a fetish. And a ritual. It's hard to explain, you either get it or you don't. Don't worry you are not necessarily missing out on anything. It's an artefact of something digitally made pressed on a medium that doesn't require electricity to produce sound (but it fucking helps). We'll be jammin' dem NTS sessions in the future post-apocalyptic world, ya know?

Good points. I'll add that the vinyl edition is confined to a domestic release, so likely no coordinated production in international pressing plants further afield. It must have been one hell of a block booking for producing them, I would wager Warp has some considerable sway with the right people to make it happen in spite of things like RSD nonsense clogging up the plants.
Do you mean through retail channels it's confined to the UK, for releasing leftover boxsets? Makes sense, yeah.
I was more referring to how there is only one manufacture point of origin - could be UK, more likely Europe - but no pressing duplication elsewhere in the world.
