My latest project is finally ready, a 6 track EP where I mash up influences from trance, house, idm. breakbeat and synthpop. Hope ya'll like it 🙂 (Also available on pretty much every other platform, links on my SC profile.) https://soundcloud.com/user-394274214/sets/the-loved-ones-part-one

The 4th entry in my “…While You Can” series of releases. This time also featuring a remastered version of my older track called Bacon Mushrooms as a “bonus track”. Gear used: Minilogue, Reface DX, Digitakt, Maschine MK3, Volca Keys and Volca Drum (which I always sequence with Digitakt) + various effect units. Mixing and mastering done in Cubase.

Aaah, that funky bassline ❤️ ?

For me this is definitely one of the all-time favourites from you. Channels so well the 90s jungle-vibe. Authentic sounding AF! ?

The 3rd installment of my "...While You Can" series. This time a bit more of a house side of things, but with a flavour of trance I guess. Maschine MK3, Digitakt, Minilogue, Reface DX + various effects. Arrangement, production, mixing and mastering in Cubase. https://soundcloud.com/user-394274214/sets/while-you-can-3

Tomi Kokki - ...While You Can 2 [Progressive House, Trance]

Thanks for the feedback, highly appreciated! ? Glad you liked the live as well, it was my first ever recorded and shared online, so I was a tad bit nervous. ? Planning on making more of those in the future as well, as it was so much fun. ? -

That's nice to hear, as the track itself was one of the hardest battles I've had. Almost dumped it at one point, but then it somehow clicked. But those tracks, which are a bit of a battle to get it to work, always leave a bit of a doubt into my head, so this was, like said: nice thing to hear. ? -
Been lately super inspired to create more of a dancefloor oriented material. Planning on releasing these as two or three track releases. Here are the first two of them. Hope you guys dig 'em. ?

Decided to start the 2020 with a "bang" by releasing my debut album. Check it out and, if you happen to like it, please consider spreading the word. ?

Gotta love the looks of the 505 ? Sounds wicked. ?

Digging it! Really loving these old school vibed jungle tracks, hit the right spot for me. ? I, or more like my daughter, has the same Casio SA-46. ? (Don't know if you've used it in your productions, but I've sampled it for few tracks. ? )

Wow, I really appreciate these kind words. ? Yeah, I think I know what you mean. Especially the middle part was something which I was going back and forth for a long time: should I make it more "lively" or keep it simple. Thanks for the feedback! ? Arrangement is still something I need to put more work into.

Tomi Kokki - Raspberry Kombucha [IDM, Slowtempo, Lo-Fi]

Thanks! It is indeed in my plans to try to make more maetrial along these lines. I really like to bounce around genres, so I never know what will happen and when. ? -

Buzz certainly had the same kind of mindset. From software side nowadays probably Reaktor Blocks and VCV Rack are probably the closest of what ZOIA is conceptually. And of course from hardware side it would be having bunch of different modular units and patching them. But yeah, awesome device. Have to just arrange some time to really dive in deeper into it. ? -

Yeah, man, I had huge trouble mixing a lower bass with that deep kick (and the pad), so I eventually made the bassline a bit lighter (as I just wanted to have the deeper kick for this track). But that was one of those "should I have this, or that?" moments, where I listened the track a lot with all the different speakers and headphones I have and tried to make the decision. Kind of a brain twister. ? Thanks for the feedback. ? -
Been super inspired by my latest gear acquisation, Empress Effects ZOIA, and happened to make an IDM/LoFi vibed track. This is exactly what I always hope, when I buy anything new, that it would inspire me to also create something new (from my perspective). Main melodies using synths made in ZOIA, also some effects by ZOIA. Inspiring little device. ?

Digging it. Not necessarily my cup of tea (genre-wise), but I really like your sound design and actual live performing. Would be interesting to hear what gear you used, especially for the sequencing/playing this live. ?

You've definitely got some interesting sounds out of Reason. Would've never guessed (I used to use Reason for several years). Good work. ?

Damn, this one I REALLY like. Proper rave-track and definitely has that early 90s dusty hall sweatty rave vibe. I would love to have this in my soundtrack for running (i.e. put it somewhere to download, please!!!), really good energy. ?

What Auxien above said could be pretty much my words as well. I mean, you have here material for about three different tracks. And those three tracks could all be great! Most of the individual parts here are really authentic sounding 90 uk-hardcore/rave material, with catchy chords and all that jazz. I'd really, REALLY like to hear some more focused, way more edited track(s) from you (actually I have to check your SC ? ). ?

Digging this track. I especially like, that you kept the wobble bass subtle enough and not "in your face". Also not too much trickery, so it IMO holds together from start to finish. Good mixing as well, like already said above. A bit same-ish vibe as one of my fave dub-step artist, Dullatron, has. And in my books that's a good thing! Will definitely listen more tracks from you.
