not sure if too many people have heard this project..i hardly see it mentioned here. this artist needs to be heard! ! i could describe his music as a perverted take on drum+bass but that wouldn't be doing it justice. here's an excerpt from a pretty accurate review of his solaris lp...

As TSS rolls across the audio-spectrum with his form of slanted drill'n bass, broken-beats and paranoid glitch ambience, the music contained within Solaris is a captivating picture of frustration at its finest. Not forgetting the fact that rhythmic motion connects each track together, TSS balances trauma with instrumental precision (try the title track, "Solaris," for example). Tearing apart beats like a master-chef, TSS' fluid percussion is enough to have any listener scratching their brain in bewilderment.

Some of his works are available to stream or download for free from embryo recordings http://www.embryo.antisound.net/

and an absolutely killer act to hear live too -)

  2. H.P Lovecraft Collection, just finished At The Mountains of Madness. Also, on the side, On Ugliness by Umberto Eco.

HP Lovecraft is brilliant! Many audiobooks freely available online...

  3. i always thought that cap.iv was a whole lot like lentic catachresis. practically a remix. it's lentic with harsh squeeks and gut-punches rather than ticks and hisses.

right down to the slow chords, chopped up vocals, and of course the acceleration into insanity.

am i right? i've tried to say this before, and people are like "eh whatever," but i think it's blatant.

i see that, cap iv being the evil twin from a parallel universe.

  4. I love it how this track rattles like hell and even has an increasing rattle-effect towards the end. Gantz Graf!

    Needs more appreciation?!

Well I just heard this track for the first time last night. Didn't realise what was brewing for the second half until i was bang in the middle of it. This was...perhaps.. one of my most intense ae listening experiences. Partly cuz I was listening to it at a MUCH louder than usual volume. Pure undiluted ultra violence. Has AE ever played this stuff on tour? I'm actually working slowly through the entire AE discography in chronological order. A recommended approach...
