Pretty great youtube channel here for recordings of live noise performances. Theres a
for some decently recorded video footage of the Extreme Ritual festival with Phurpa, TNB, Raionbashi, Dave Philips, Rudolf Eb.er, Junko etc. Also one for thefestival with Pain Jerk, Kevin Drumm, Incapacitants, Hijokaidan, NWW sets etc. Lovely stuff! -
weird no sound clips loading on the norman website for me.

nice, didn't realize Heathen Harvest was still active. Nebraska, do you know of any other halfway decent noise/experimental/ambient blogs or online magazines/review sites? I'm trying to find places I've overlooked for sending out my new record which is borderline noise and I'm coming up empty.
I'd recommend these two as well

rudolf eb.er anyone? of all the people that make noise this guy is in a category all unto himself
Eb.er is a legend. I actually posted that video on the first page of this thread. Saw him do a set with junko recently where he took a different approach and played what sounded like tape loops and field recordings from the back of the stage. It was really hypnotic stuff and actually got a few people dancing in front of the speakers. He eventually came down into the crowd wearing a wig that made him look like that chick from ringu and started waving his witchdoctor/shaman staff (seems to be a staple in his recent performances) at random people in the crowd. His presence is unlike any performer I've seen before. I guess that probably applies to a few from the schimpfluch gruppe.

I want to go to a show like this...
I bet John Peel would have liked this.

The Master - 9.5/10
The best movie I've seen recently. Didn't even notice it was two hour long...or mind the ending either.

Been into Dalek for a while myself. Abandoned Language is an amazing album as well.

Free FLAC download of one of my favorite noise releases from last year by Lettera 22. These guys are really fantastic.

have you heard much of Russel Haswell's noise stuff? I think that guy stands above most noise artists
this is probably my favorite release of his
http://www.discogs.com/Russell-Haswell-Live-Salvage-1997-2000/release/11268
I love pretty much everything Haswell has done. Satanstornade was the album that got me hooked on noise back in high school. I heard his UPIC collaboration with Hecker Blackest Ever Black around the same time as well. I thought it was conceptually fascinating and really enjoyed the recordings but never experience any of its intended synesthesia effects. I have a feeling the UPIC experiments probably worked best in a live setting with huge quadraphonic sound and visuals. Hope they collab again soon.
Love those live salvage releases too. In case you missed it, he put out a new salvage release this year documenting performances from his tour with AE. I also like the new direction he's moved in...exploring the intersection of techno with japanoise. Its been done before by Merzbow and the like but hes def coming up with some crazy results:

check this out. it's one of my favorite noise releases for this year
Man, this is blistering. I think the second half of the first track may have won the loudness war. It hurts so good. And the reverb trail ending closing a nice, unexpected touch. Very nice indeed.
A stand out noise release for me this year was NON's Back to Mono. It's very diverse for a noise album, and has some extra tasty hypnotic textures that are great to get lost in. Like this:
Have you seen the Boyd Rice documentary 'Iconoclast' that came out last year (i think)? Highly recommended viewing!

Really been ploughing through Rodger Stella's weirder cut up, tape loop stuff as well recently. The One Dark Eye reissue on ljudbildproduktion is amazing, as well as this Macronympha release.

Nice thread! I was at the Extreme Rituals festival earlier this month in Bristol. It was three day retrospective on the Schimpfluch Gruppe. Saw some truly amazing performances/actions by Dave Phillips, Rudolf Eb.er and Raionbashi as well as The New Blockaders (greatest noise group imo). There are quite a few recordings of their performances on youtube if you enjoy an aktionist approach to your noise. Their label Tochnit Aleph also has some amazing musique concrete and field recordings gems by G*Park and Dave Phillips that are worth checking out.
