    Oh my !

Zebra(lette) 3 and hopefully soon Harmor VST3* and I'm all set.

*confirmed by IL on their forum btw, just no timeline yet.

'maybe public beta in a few weeks, maybe in a few months' they might release it in the next couple of years based on his timeline estimates so far. 2025. ish.

it looks & sounds great, of course.

v interesting ideas bout a.i. in this vid:

everything he says at 18:00 is (at least kind of) wrong: domesticated animals are essentially a 'technology' that make their own decisions/etc. which he claims no other tech has ever done. he claims the algorithms disseminating social media are AI technology which is by and large false, and he says 'much' of the content on social media itself is AI generated, which is for now almost entirely incorrect, there's very little actual AI-generated content out there at the moment. those last two things may change, of course, but he's incorrect.

'ultimately our power is based on words' is 100% truth. the AI and economics is well worth thinking about...the right program could really manipulate/destroy some financial markets (if that's not already happening).

i ain't got the interest to watch another hour+ of that tho but that's my impressions from ~10 minutes of watching

ha wow so this is gonna be...what, $20k? sound clip on the Korg page is pretty amazing tho, will give it that.

edit: according to the SonicState article it's about $13k. worth clicking through there for a short video clip of the original.

It also looks more robust, less fragile than the OP-Z (I am still holding a grudge against TE for the poor build quality of OPZ). Seqtrack got me hyped (as most grooveboxes do if I'm being honest), I really like the all-out design they chose.

for all of TE's striving for aesthetics, you'd think part of that quest would be quality materials & builds. i've never owned anything of theirs but QC issues have plagued basically everything they've touched from what i've read. that's not too surprising for something like the Pocket Operators for sizing/pricing...yeah, those aren't going to last forever. but there's really no excuse for most of their products given the prices.

kinda weird to come out and say "we don't need you women because people of color" or is it just me who thinks that's weird?  not like the right isn't al about enforcing the patriarchy.

regardless, doesn't change my thoughts about that asshat.

weird for regular humans, normal for politicians. it's as surprising as hearing they said one thing on the campaign trail which they abandoned immediately upon election.

we're only a few years away from the actual patriarchal rhetoric from the right to become more mainstreamed, if they keep their tenuous grip on some powers a bit longer.

of course he's an asshat, for sure. but when he's paying more attention to the trends and facts than lots of the left/center who are wasting time coming up with cute clapbacks to RT on Twitter, well that's part of how we get where we are right now, with Trump looking to have a real shot at getting reelected.

  7. music journalism is hard, and since the inception of Pitchfork the idea of ‘new music reviews’ have been a dying endeavor. props to anyone still pursuing it, and to anyone still reading/watching it tho.

there’s a place for curation of new music that would otherwise go unnoticed, but who needs a review of the new Coldplay album? just listen to it instantly on any damned site. hopefully there’s more of a trend towards hunting + spotlighting the unknown/unheard and less ‘cutesy bald glasses-wearing white guy listens to a popular album (which you’ve already heard) two maybe three times then declares its place in history’ which Pfork always came across as, true or not.

or maybe we’ll get RDJ on the cover of GQ

Re NTS shows: thru a lil' internet magic and elbow grease I was able to capture Mixcloud's HQ streams (for the 4 shows thus far) and extract the rich, juicy audio from the .webm files (they're Opus codec, ~180 - 200 kbps).  If of interest to any fellow luxury sonicians, holla at ya boi :datboi:

Also, still really enjoying this album!

luxury sonician here interested in this aPpealing developMent

re: cgi… not the best move when the very first scene is built on badly executed cgi concept.

    yes and yes

Jodie Foster is great but the other one that played detective Navarro is starting out well too. but at this point i'm not worried about the actors, i'm worried about the story and the direction...
