  1. The Orb, lol....

My dad has had a standing subscription to Entertainment Weekly since the late 80s and in 1992, an issue ended with a piece called "Let's Trance" and basically detailed the rave explosion in the UK and the subsequent "slowing down and intellectulization" of dance music in the form The Orb and others (strange that I don't recall Aphex--still under the radar in '92 and not signed to Island or FFRR :ok: )

i don't think Aphex hit big until '93, but he was on FFRR w/ the Power-Pill single. maybe i don't understand what you're saying.

I've got one gripe: the buttfucking miserably loud, final "snap" of what sounds like support steel cables at the end of "Montagne D'Or (Der Gute Berg)" :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

LOL, oh yes. it doesn't bother me, but i could hear it while i was only a third through your sentence. hehehe.

  2. Cydonia is fucking dope. if there ever was a shit one it's Bicycles & Tricycles. The Dream is platinum 10x over compared to that.

i think we should have an all out Orb album battle/bracketology! but it will be for the worst record. that will be the winner in this fight. and then we all have to put that record on repeat until we like it.

btw, i think i'm going to get the double LP of Baghdad Batteries cause it's got like 2 more songs on it.

  3. They've had one after Okie Dokie (which i never really liked. i think it's too 'indie label' maybe) called The Dream. i do really like a couple of them from that one. "Vuja De" is nice, powerful and poppy.

loved Orbvs Terrarvm for years. one of those early ones i heard in the 90s that set it all off. didn't finally buy it till years later but was a great buy. i've got the CD in one of those map slip cases like the 2xLP is in. saw the LP recently in a shop for like $20 too.

  4. was jamming "Kylie Said To Jason" just last weekend, and the wizard Mark "Spike" Stent mixed some of their best stuff. i've said about all i'm going to say about them in past threads but i thought i'd better at least make an appearance.

  5. Has anyone been to a dubstep show? I went to one and it was not a popular part of the club. But I danced my silly butt off!

what did you go to? the only dubstep that's hit it off well w/ me is Pinch. got the Burial album and its ok.
