  1. Yeh - dropping the mask nonsense was also a step forward.... one of his best traits is his gurning and enjoying his own tunage live!.. the irony of it given his talk of this newer stuff coming out of lockdown mindfullness!

  3. From the man himself via warp...here here Tom!

For me, the lockdown of 2020 will always stand out as a remarkable time partly for the viscerality of its terrors, but also because of its novel, eerie, sublime silence. It afforded me (and no doubt other fortunate loners) a respite from the incessant distractions that can get in the way of important things such as doing nothing – or recording music. The cancellation of all live commitments meant the prospect of a year's worth of itineraries, airport security, hotels and no sleep was erased, and for some time I experienced a simple happiness not familiar in my adulthood. In a way it reminded me of being a child, where one knows big and awful stuff happens on the horizon but the current moment is a blissful sanctuary. Without customary interruptions, time elapsed differently: Dostrotime. I recorded extensively during that unusual period and went on to use some of that material as the basis for the rescheduled live shows of '21 &' 22. These events were remarkable for their tangible atmosphere of jubilation that lockdown was over and this album is indebted to the exhilaration of those shows. It is an attempt to capture the peculiarity of music catalysed by lockdown being part of the celebration of lockdown's demise.

  4. Yeh even his damogen live sets were incredible and im not into that album - im looking at you Day For Night - tore it up!

But fuck me his vic acid set in Primaversa 2022 was unreal.. relentless, pounding acid/jungle assault. As far as I can see he LOVES his USA outings - coachella vodka set, Boston "You posess the knowldedge venus17 set".. so crrossing my fingers for a US tour for you guys

  5. Lets see - getting Damogen vibes which ... well I only really liked live. Id be happy with continuation of BUaH sound but .... that was ceretainly no "go plastic" how dare you!

Boyle and Garland are back on it, so if the stars align they may be able to reproduce some of the magic of the first. the problem is the swathe of rubbish zombie fic that has permeated the popular consciousness between now and 28 Days Later (like The Cunting Dead, worst show of the 21st century easily). it's going to be tough for the new one to have the same impact because it was so right-time-right-place, being close in the wake of Sep 11th and the new era that brought.

Black Summer - nothing can possibly beat that for a re-do of the zombie genre. Just relentless and damn amazing

The Witch (The VVitch) 2015. I thought this was very good. Creepy and sinister. Not everyone's cup of tea though.

LOVE The Witch sooooo much - what an ending!

    ..............also  Midsomer and Hereditery

...watched The Killer the other day too... passed-the-time

hmm.. grew up on the origional series which was amazing and got me into Japanese culture... then i read the James Clavel book it was based on whoch was great but THEN i read th actual biography of the real Samurai William whch was even more amazing and it really didn't need all the melodrama tbh. Im very skeptical of this and it looks all too slick/contrived. Let see...

  9. Damn I missed the index sets - had tickets but wasn't arsed after a 3hr drive to Dublin and catchup with mates.

From the opening ambient few mins to the quick beats drop, the scratch track and getting lost in the swirling treackly soundscapes then the - gonna say it squarepusher-style ending .. fucking hell

  10. Channel4 news seems balanced enough to me on this horrendous shit

I'm rarely proud of irish political landscape and the bunch of chancers at the top but did feel an inkling of it on their calling out on the Israel geniocidal rampage at the moment, in a sea of european apologists

  11. Guys... 1hr30... we got the london scratching  track.. after a no messing beat driven intro. All lulled into a false of security with london b style tempo before.. im not kidding a... relentless high bpm worthy-of-afx pounding assault. Next levelness

  12. wrt the David Lynch love - i recenlty rewatched Twin Peaks the Return and making in my mind their 2022 livsets the soundtrack to all the in-beteen dream locations - the purple sea, the lodges, the electical byways. Stunning sounds

  13. Im only now getting around to listen to the 2022/23 live sets with just Milan/Athens just in the bag and .... my gosh Im utterly enthralled. Swirlling and syrupy... I actually ended the first listened parked at my country house after a late night car journey and when i exited the car at the end i was greeted with a cloudless/moonless night and massive starfield which hit me like a shockwave .. that and the embers of their sets still buring in my mind i felt electric. I had just read the recent interview too and .. given their love of David Lynch and my recent rewatch of Twin Peaks The Return I couldnt help relate the vibes of their music and that show.. meandering, out-of-place-and-time, nonlinear, electrifying, melencholicy, distrubing.

Aestounding stuff  - dozens more livesets to digest!
