Maybe it just depends on the country you live in? Most of the time, copyright on Warp related material is claimed by Merlin[UK] (iirc), maybe PIAS is in charge outside of the UK?

Daaaang, there was an 0pn Tweet in Kennylogg's post that said something like "new album 2023" but it looks like it's gone? I was reflecting on '23 being 58% over and really wanted some fresh Mr. Lopa Lopa. He skews late summer/fall with release months going August, November and October across the past 10 years so we'll see.
It is still on his Instagram !
An album based on his Rebuild lives would be amazing, I guess it would also be a way for him celebrate this point in his career.

It sounds amazing, thanks ! I also stumbled upon the XAOC Devices Tallin, which looks more complete, saturation-wise. Aaaaand the AtoVprojekt "cDVCA" which is a crazy pack of overdrive possibilities - but also, a bit more expansive.
Anyway, I will probably have to think a bit more of the VCAs because while watching the Persephone demos, I discovered they also have a phaser which is HUGE. Soooooo I might start with the wavefolder + phaser to play a bit more with the Moog alone, and get 1 or 2 VCAs in a few months
Btw damo, do you do eurorack ? Would love to hear about your setup !

I picked Two Point Campus, very funny sim game, however the game seems to hide its complexity during the first few levels (probably to avoid discouraging new players). Good for them but I feel like the first levels will just be tutorials that I will have to plow through before reaching the "real" game. Had the same feeling with Two Point Hospital and never went past the 3rd mission or something

I am (very slowly) building a modular system which I intend to design as a complement to my Moog Matriarch, i.e. using the Moog's oscs and filters with various eurorack options.
For now I have MI Beads (which I love despite finding it very difficult to use) and Intellijel's Plonk (will use it as a perc module mostly). I am planning on getting a Joranologue Fold 6 to add wavefolding to the Moog, and a Pam Pro Workout to clock everything.
I am now looking for a nice VCA, with a bit of character (I've been looking to LPG, or VCAs with distortion) - I'll have the Matriarch VCAs for cleaner, more straightforward output. If anybody has any advice I'll be glad to listen to it !

Cylob had a Subforum here on WATMM many years ago.. He didn't like us at all and was pretty grumpy and pissed towards the forum.
Im not sure but it feels like he is a very reserved guy and don't want to be bothered.Yeah, this + let's not forget how he tried to destroy the IDM scene by eating beards and turning Richard D James into a gorilla...

I like the Blackbox track, but the barcelona track is next level for me. I really do hope that gets another proper release.
Remember when back in the 90s it was a thing to press double albums? I think Richard should start that trend again...

That whole debate is a pretty heavy topic.. But let's say this: You can make a digital synth sound quite like an analogue one.
Then you have the signal going thru analogue mixers etc then the signal becomes a bit heated on the wayRichard taught us a very important lesson on the matter with the pretend analog track !!

A lot of the Analord tracks had digital synths
I honestly always bought the legend of Analord being 100% analog, from the machines used to the recording to the vinyl pressing. I'm no purist, and only ever listened to it digitally anyway but your post surprises me !

I know fm synthesis is digital but for some reason both of these track give me Analord-y vibes. I really enjoy it !

Yesterday's price is not today's price
Omg Ivan thank you so much for posting this haha. Every single vinyl release is 10-15€ more expensive than it was 3 years ago. In my local record store, Amber repress was 25€, LP5 repress was 30€, Draft 7.30 is 40€.

with the amount of traction reddit has I doubt this will change anything in the long run. I'd like to be wrong but it seems too intertwined in people's short term happy hormone rituals to really give reddit the boot
I fully agree. From what I understand the idea is to hurt their credibility before their IPO. The other thing is that their CEO seem to take things on a very personal level, and that doesn't help. The only certain thing is that Reddit will not be the same after this episode!

what's the endgame of this? I haven't really been following it since I managed to finally quit a while ago. I've despised that place (and particularly its college-age userbase) for over a decade at this point and yet it took forever to leach out the obsessive brain-chemical urge to browse it every day.
It keeps on delivering. Apparently a big subreddit (/r/worldnews iirc) promoted everybody to moderation team.
In the meantime, some reddit 3rd party apps are moving to Lemmy (i.e., Fediverse Reddit). Lemmy and Kbin (another Fediverse alternative) are on the verge of hitting 1 million subscribers.
Conclusion: don't consider your userbase idiots.

I’d say if the 3 EP rumor is true and I have to pay $37 x 3 for 45 minutes of music, I’m def gonna be annoyed. But I don’t see them doing that at this point.

But so is it the 28th of june or july? I'm a bit confused now. I assue it's July since that's on a Friday...
Pretty sure that when I checked this morning, Tidal has the info that the 3 other tracks would be released July28th. Glad if we get to give it a listen in a week rather than in a month !

Lol how is it even possible for a label like Warp to screw so badly one of their biggest artist's release?? I wanted to stream Blackbox on repeat the whole afternoon but guess I'll have to wait.
Also weird not to have options to pre-order the 12" right now

So 4 tracks EP incoming, I don't think it will lead to a fully fledged LP, Collapse had similar scale advertising and yet it was an EP. Anyway I'm very excited, can't listen to the title track right now but pretty sure it will blow my mind !

The whole reddit shitshow is both entertaining and sad to witness. I have been extensively using a 3rd-party app (Reddit Sync) for the past 7 years, and this is what made the website enjoyable to me. I love how the users are fighting against the CEO, in a very reddit-y way, ironically (the blackout was a thing, but recently moderators of /r/InterestingAsFuck enabled posting NSFW content which is a great blow dealt to reddit's frontpage).
This made me delve deeper into the Fediverse, I am currently testing Kbin as a reddit alternative and it works well. The size of the community and overall kindness make it a very pleasant place. Quitting Reddit also led me to rediscover what I loved about WATMM - the only place on the Internet that really never disappointed me and will forever hold a special place in my heart

i'm looking through this thread trying to find these. where, exactly, can i go to hear there tracks? are you talking about the 10" that came out, and is that available to buy digitally?
we're gonna need individual sticky threads for each actual release that becomes available. iirc people missed out some serious shit when SIGN/PLUS by Autechre came out in 2020, because everyone relied on a huge 100+ page thread which you had to constantly check and navigate.
I fully agree, I don't think it's a matter of wearing the right pants, but rather of just getting older sadly !

the "Big Cheesys" thing ALWAYS remind me of a Ufabulum-style track someone did for a WATMM tribute comp to Squarepusher, in which he used the "lyrics" from the comic where Squarepusher presents his chubstep album, Ufabulous. Track is genuinely amazing so here you go : https://wearethemusicmakers.bandcamp.com/track/unknown-inspired-track
