Will probably pick up Shouting at the ground, any other recommendations from this current batch? I'm not too familiar with this half of their discography.

First review and it had to be Boomkat. Maybe I'm out the loop but their descriptions of Wickedly skizzy UK brukbeat and hardcore pressure systems etc. never give me the first clue as to what the music is like.
I guess having to write about an endless series of very similar techno 12"s means weird purple prose is a must, but I'm none the wiser as to the autechre LP after reading that.- 1

The pre-order track is very nice indeed, looking forward to this.

Couldn't resist picking that up.
Then got an email this afternoon saying sorry, we don't have stock after all, here's a refund.
Nuts. -
I'm hoping for two 60ish minute albums, released simultaneously with different but related artwork, one full of AE bangers and the other more abstract / ambient.Im curious as to the two releases - like is it a double album with a part 1 and part 2 released at the same time or is it two different approaches released apart from each other.
Or maybe its a full Bob album and a full Sam album...
Ideally by November because I'd love some new autechre to get through the winter...- 5

I got it late March and my wife a week later, didn't get it too badly though luckily. A week off work and vague lingering fatigue. How many people on here have caught covid? There's gotta be some cases by now.
Quite a few colleagues at the hospital I work at got it around those 2 weeks just before and after lockdown, some got it a lot worse and 3 people died.- 1

Virology is not my specific area, but at the moment the proven cases of people who have tested positive twice with a long interval between seem to be rare enough to make the news (recently in Israel and Colorado for example).danshoebridge Also, do you know details of these cases? Are they running milder than before? The press does say anything. I'm asking because it would explain a throat scratchy phenomenon i had a week a ago, a week after my GF returned from Canada. We both had it. I said at some point here that i had covid already and i have the suspision that my GF also had it around the same time. And this little thing felt like covid is knocking on the door again, but then went away after a few days.So it could be a bit of a throat thing every ones in a while due to exposure. (just a wild guess)
Like most things it's not black and white but it's fair to say:
- if youre infected you will eventually produce IgM and IGg antibodies
- the antibody levels increase in people that have more severe disease
- these levels then reduce quite quickly (I've been booted off the plasma donor programme as mine are now way down)
- you're more likely to completely resist a subsequent infection with antibodies, but not guaranteed
- if you DID get a second infection (ie test positive on a swab test) symptoms are likely to be much reduced as your body has a headstart second time round, even if you have a low antibody number at reinfection.
I'd be worried if you start seeing numerous cases of people coming down with serious symptoms or dying on a proven second infection but to my knowledge that hasn't been seen yet.

I work for the Oxford Trust and I've got to say they really had their shit together on this. Most of the NHS workers here have ended up on the testing and antibody trials, and I ended involved the convalescent plasma trial once I'd recovered. Vaccine trial obviously seems to be going well.
As far as reinfections go... If it behaves like any other coronavirus there will be instances of people getting reinfected (and follow-up WE'RE ALL DOOMED newspaper articles), but I wouldn't panic just yet. 100s of thousands of people have recovered, and of the relatively small number of proven reinfections no-one has died to my knowledge.- 3

After 4 years I really thought I was past the 'no way that's real' response to Trump tweets, but those ones still surprised me.My wife and I have been watching this as well, and are outraged. What Trump, Fox, and the conservative business owners who support them are doing by fueling a protest against this sorry ass excuse for "injustice" is absolutely maddening. This folks, is the worst he's done yet... Encouraging people to revolt against science and risk spreading a pandemic further to kill more people all in the name of him getting more circle jerk action from his base. This is like true dictator-from-axis-of-evil country level fucked up.
It's unbelievable really, some cranky old arsehole live-tweeting his stream of consciousness while watching propaganda on Fox, but he's also the president and it'll end up killing tens of thousands of people. I'm not American, but I am really, officially, over this bullshit now. -
Interesting to hear 'patches' from the NTS stuff getting repurposed into entirely different tracks. You can recognise tiny bits (like the end of turbile epic, or 32a reflected) just from the timbres but the overall effect is totally different.
Listening to Sinistrail Sentinel after this, it does sound like it would fit right into these sets.- 2

Try logging out and signing in again, worked for me.Every single file: "download failed. please try again."
If anyone wants to PM me these babies, I already paid... -
Starting with Zagreb and it's sounding immense - soundboards can often be a bit dry but the sound on these is mental.
Playing through a pair of HD650s and the sense of space is crazy, properly psychedelic and the beats when they do hit are punchy as hell. Definitely some of the best live stuff they've ever done.- 4

7 is about right for me I reckon. Although I'd be curious to see how the RFH gig soundboard matches up to my memory of it, 7 sets is enough to really do a deep dive into each over time.
I liked a lot of the previous batch but in the end 28 was a bit too overwhelming.- 4

Come for the lush tunes, stay for the coronavirus conspiracy theories...
To be fair the Swiss doctor link was a fairly straightforward breaking down of Covid death stats explaining that it predominantly kills the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions. Aphex seems to think this shows that lockdown = global conspiracy to control the population, I'm more of the view that no, we just don't want 100s of thousands of vulnerable people to get it all at once.- 1

Is it wrong I sold the Rakka vinyl (just for what I paid, no flipping) and used the money to buy the Multila vinyl?
-
Hmm he always loves his conspiracy theories, Reminds me of a mate of mine - lovely chap but genuinely believes particles absorbed from chemtrails in his body are being activated by 5G to allow the government to spy on him through walls. He really needs a break from smoking weed.
Aphex wants to watch out with all the 'plandemic' stuff though. We're just seeing the start of the mortality spike here in the UK and soon enough people who have had loved ones die from this will have a very low tolerance for this kind of shit.- 4

Nice bit of S>>D and Seefeel. Think I heard some Scientist in the dub selection too.
Anyone manage to record the unreleased jams section? -
Not too bad, pretty fatigued but no major respiratory problems. Finally got swabbed so should find out if I am actually positive or not by Monday. Would be slightly embarrassing if this is just a poorly-timed cold.
Wife's good, symptom free and I suspect slightly pissed off that I get the run of the house while she's stuck in a hotel room.- 3

I work in cancer care, so wasn't treating covid-19 patients directly - but of course there was no testing being done at the time so I ended up treating a number of pts that have since tested positive.
It's an unprecedented situation, although 2 weeks ago there were things we needed from the government: more tests, decent PPE, and a massive expansion of ICU beds. it's a shame they spent weeks faffing about with that herd immunity bollocks - at least they seem to be mobilising in the right direction now.- 3

Was keen on picking this up but what's up with those prices? £34 for a 2LP is a bit fierce. Better get used to it with Brexit on the way I guess...
