  1. The artwork is an obvious Downward Spiral throwback.

I think the only NIN I've ever heard is The Downward Spiral and Fixed/Broken EPs. I've been listening to those consistently for years, but I never got around to listening the rest of his stuff. I tried listening to Pretty Hate Machine but never made it past the first 4 or 5 tracks. I've never even listened to The Fragile. Maybe Downward and the EPs are all the NIN I need

  2.

Just started (well, put a couple of hours into) Fez - I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment by the whole map size

Don't let it knock you out. It took me a while to get the map, but all of a sudden it all made sense and I have no idea why.

What's not to understand? Cubes are rooms, lines connect rooms.

I didn't really like Fez. At all. I even wrote a few paragraphs on why it's not a good game, maybe I'll translate it and post it here some day.

  3. On first listen, it's their darkest, most dystopian record, sonically cluttered and a million miles away from the sentimental reverie of MHTRTC...

... my initial impression is that this will become the serious Boards of Canada fan's favourite album, but anybody who came in at The Campfire Headphase will probably be opting out.

I don't care how dark it is compared to Music Has, I want to know how dark it is compared to Geogaddi. Get your shit straight, reviewers

  4.

i wanna like kanye. lots of hip hop nerds love him and think he's the shit. but every time i give his records a shot it just sounds to me like some of the worst, cheesiest elements from like a shitty journey record combined with broke ass beats.

    yep.

and like SpanishGuy said, his self absorbed "I'm the black reincarnation of jesus" attitude just makes me want to smash his face regardless of whether his music is shitty or not.

I didn't say anything lol, that was Ceerial. All I've heard from the yeezy is that Power track and the South Park episode. Gay fish, yo

  5. I also love the epilogue where he describes the book's accuracies and inaccuracies.

It's crazy, he checked wheather reports from the 19th century to see if it rained this or that day in order to portray the story accurately.

I left The Walking Dead at the 15th paperback, the story was getting pretty boring and I can't stand Adlard's art. If only Tony Moore would have stayed in the series... sigh

  6. Got back into Grand Theft Auto IV because I stopped playing it for a while and didn't finish it. Trying to get the almost impossible 100% completion.

If you're trying to get all the online trophies, you're pretty much fucked. If you're just trying to 100% the single player, it's not that hard.

  7. 1. Untilted

    2. Exai

    3. LP5

    4. Chiastic Slide

    5. Quaristice

    6. Incunabula

    7. Amber

    8. Tri Repetae

    9. Draft 7.30

    10. Confield

    11. Oversteps

Untilted, Exai, LP5 and Chiastic Slide are albums I listen to in a consistent basis and I find enjoyable from start to finish.

Quaristice is an album whose enjoyment depends heavily on my mood, but when the time's right it's a blast

Incunabula and Amber are OK, a pleasant listen but they don't move me in the way other Ae albums do.

Tri Repetae, Draft and Confield are praiseworthy but I hardly ever listen to them from start to finish, but rather selected tracks every now and then.

And Oversteps' got 3 good tracks at the beginning and then zzzzzzzz

  8.

I always skip Flep. Fuck Flep.

same, only one I don't like on the whole double album.

I meant to ask a while back if you ended up liking the album?

I love Exai. It's their best since Untilted, and their most enjoyable since EP7. There's a good portion of Ae's music that I find praiseworthy, original, and innovative, but not enjoyable; but that's not the case with Exai. It's a really fun album, in a sense.
