Awesome, there must be some way you can chill it surely?

aye i would have to bottle it for the 2nd fermentation stage... but i couldn't be arsed with the process of putting 1/2 teaspoon of sugar into more than 40 bottles and filling and capping each one.

i was going to bottle up 6, but i couldn't get this borrowed capping tool thing to work, so i had to just put it all in the barrel. if i had a house with garden i could put it outside but i'm in a 4th floor flat. if it wasn't so heavy i could put it on the roof.

Sweet! I'd like to see a pic of a pint.

You should consider trying to bottle them. It might add a whole new awesome dimension to the taste!

Congrats on your first brew.

i'm sure bottling and chilling would improve the quality massively... suppose if i want the reward i've got to put in the effort.

i'll post a pic no problemo. if i send you a naked pic of me enjoying a pint do you promise not to share it with watmm?

boil priming sugar for entire batch dissolved in 1 pt of water for 10-15 min. pour sugar water in bottom of sanitized plastic bucket. sanitize 2 1/2 cases worth of bottles (i use my dishwasher) siphon beer into bottling bucket. use bottling tube to fill bottles. let condition for 1-2 weeks. enjoy.

^ that'd work. cheers for the tip.

i managed to get it chilled overnight cos we were long overdue a food shop and the fridge was totally empty..chilling has definately improved it hugely... i'd go so far as to say it's very nice indeed, fuckin delicious even.

sorry encey for crappy pics, these were just with my phone. i may try more with the camera cos these make it look a bit cloudy and it's actually clear as any canned or draught lager, if a bit darker...

Mine will be 3 weeks on Friday. I'm gonna crack into it proper then (though I might have a little experimental sip today as I'm off work ill and need something to cheer me up!)

Those resealable Grolsch bottles would surely be good for bottling smaller quantities too?

grolsch bottles - yeah they sell them in the wee shop i go to... i'll get a load for my next brew.

grolsh bottles are excellent but you need to replace the gaskets every couple of uses, just sos ya knows.

Was secretly hoping my 'bird' got me a homebrew kit for Xmas, lol!

Please do keep this thread updated w pics and such documenting your progress! Or at least text. <img src="http://forum.watmm.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.png" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":w00t:" border="0" alt="w00t.png" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

secretly hoping will get you nowhere my friend... i hinted like a mofo.

i thought about a step by step guide with pics when i was preparing it but loled and thought 'christ no don't be silly!'.

My hints must have worked, lol -- I got a Cooper's kit for my bday! It comes with a lager mix, but she also got me a dark ale mix, which is what I'm going to brew.

I just hope I don't fuck it up too bad y0!
