It was released for the Famicom in 1990, but you've probably seen it floating around one of those pirated multi-game trinkets. Just now I have played and played all the way to level 36. If you have a decent NES emulator you can download it here: http://www.romnation.net/srv/roms/31805/nes/Magic-Jewelry-Asia.html And by the way, the SEGA game Columns was obviously just copying the mechanics of this game, being released years before.
