"Commonly referred to as A Few Old Tunes, due to its label; however, according the Twoism forum user dealer, who posted new photos of the cassette and liner notes, it is also the true Old Tunes Vol. 1 (and not the tape previously assumed to be OTV1)."

My BoC Maxima is in colour, and does NOT contain any additional writing on the J-card beyond the cover and tracklisting...

For what it's worth (and what I recall being told):

A Few Old Tunes is just that - not AKA Volume 1, etc. - it's safe to assume when M&M put it out, they hadn't thought about releasing more, (and hence labeling it "volume one, two, etc." since this was not a commercial release.

The cassette commonly known as OTV1 (aka the "35 Random Tracks") has a name and tracklisting, but has not been divulged (yet). Trust me, I've asked and been politely been denied.

There's a total of 4 cassettes like this, possibly more.

I reckon the girl in the Geogaddi artwork is now getting a very cross email at this point...

I'd disagree with that statement - the folks at HexSun are very friendly, but considering they trust people with things like this, and expect it to be kept to themselves, I could see why they'd be a bit cross at the person (perhaps not) for sharing it online. Then again, this wasn't leaked by her, more somebody she knew.

I'd really like to hear that early version of Kid For Today he mentions...

As far as I understood, she didn't leak anything. She just let someone take photos from the casettes as we already have seen on the internet. It's just in maybe better quality.

If that really has consequences for that girl, hs can indeed consider themselves unfriendly. But probably we will never know.

That's true; I can't imagine them getting upset over scans of a hand-made J card...

Now, if it were the pre-Twoism releases, that's another matter :emotawesomepm9:

Just out of curiosity Joyrex, what is the tracklisting split on your cassette? i.e. which is the last track on side A and the first on side B? I'm pretty anal about stuff like that in general.

Same as it is on the version posted above - side B is short, hence why BoC had enough space to put those extra tracks on for their friend. The J-Card is virtually identical with the exception of the cover art being in colour.

And it's a Sony cassette as well

Thought the whole thing was bollocks from the start. The only thing that interests me is that his photo of the actual Boc Maxima tape more or less matches Joyrex's description. Unless photos of it have surfaced on t'net before and I'm just not savvy enough to have seen them. Also, this dealer youth fraternising with the girl from Geogaddi strikes me as a bit dodgy unless that photo of her was taken ages ago.

The photo of the girl on the Geogaddi art is indeed very old. The handwriting matches what's on my Maxima cassette, and also matches the handwriting on the other Old Tunes J-Cards. The only thing that sort of strikes me as odd is the Maxima J-Card being a photocopy, rather than in colour - then again, the OT J-Cards are photocopies as well, as I am sure Mike and Marcus are not going to go get colour copies made for every homemade tape they give out to friends...

Perhaps MDG could chime in on this and clear the air, or at least provide some perspective.

Hell, at least it's interesting news!

True, but it also illuminates the lack of any more interesting news. it also gives you a chance to tease us with implied inside info on a boxed set, too
