Hard to believe Beauty and the Beat was 2005... one of the most fucking excellent hiphop records to come out this decade! Anyway this is a new project he did with Stones Throw... not a proper album but a mixtape, think Brainfreeze but built around psychedelic, breaks, and party rap and seamed together with plenty of tape efx. Seems like both vinyl and cd have already sold out on pre-order (check the above links, it's a bit confusing) but the mix has leaked, and it's quite impressive to say the least. Edan is the man. Beauty and The Beat is one of the finest hiphop albums I've heard. I saw him live last June and his live act is fucking amazing. It's just as tight as the studio recordings, amazing stuff.
