Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943

Great post, it's quite crazy how many such photos (albeit in standard B&W) are sitting around in attics somewhere, unseen for decades. I was browsing through hundreds of old photos at an antique store a couple of months ago and looking through collections from the same era. The fact that they were barely labeled and that most of the people were dead and gone, or at least extremely old now, was a bit melancholic. Every once in awhile you'd see a kid playing with a cat or dog...the images weren't far off from a youtube video screen shot. I'm always amused that children seem to be acting the same way back then as they do now (i.e. the ones that are spoiled little shits with smart phones)
