Here is my newest creation:

My friend sent me the acapella for it, sounded a little flat at first but I added some effects, sped it up, and mixed it to my beat. Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks :)

Cool man, keep doing your thing.

This is not the type of music I'm into but I like the way it sounds. =)

Thanks :) Do you think it's worth making a separate track with just the beat?

Great start, but the piano voicing is way too clean and clinical sounding; needs to be dirtied up!

Interesting. It did seem a lil flat to me still, but I hadn't thought about it like that. How would you suggest doing it? Like, what kind of sound should be added in your opinion?

Use a more interesting piano voicing or (better) experiment with some fx over the existing voice like slight distortion/granular synthesis etc. You can get totally lost in that kind of sound alchemy I find; trying to discover a cool voicing; usually the best ones happen by mistake!

Edit: maybe throw some mixed-down texture underneath the piano during the intro, like a swooshy ambient pad, or a slowed down field-recording of walking through leaves or something...
