Saturday, May 12th, 9pm - Midnight: Mark Van Hoen Looped & time-stretched ghost bounce lovers take note: Mark Van Hoen, founding member of pioneering UK outfit Seefeel and producer of rhythmic electronic drift as Locust visits WFMU for the first time! Van Hoen recently released the terrific "The Revenant Diary" album on Editions Mego, but for this live in-studio session expect exclusive new material brimming w/ an army of analog synths and sonic sorcery. Tune in and oscillate wildly!

New material !!

I'm going to be recording it.

Truth, Locust is excellent stuff. I've only heard Weathered Well and Morning Light - two fantastic records though.

Please up the show when you can! Many thanks!

Hope you liked the set and thanks for your comments during the show!

It was a blast to play on WFMU and I think it went quite well!

(for material written and rehearsed in 3 days!)

That interview reminded me of the difference between a good interviewer and a bad one. That is, the show isn't about the person doing the interview, but should be about the guest. It's funny how often people in the media forget that--it seems like a very basic rule that you shouldn't ever interrupt the guest when he's explaining his thinking about something. Nor should you offer some "clever" metaphor or explanation of something. Leave that to the person you're interviewing.

Way to go, Lou, for becoming the new member of Locust. I'm looking forward to some new releases! I liked MVH's explanation for your addition to the new incarnation.

HaHa, thanks apriorion, I can't belive that I joined one of my favorite bands! It was funny how the music that we started making together sounded like Locust off the bat, in fact I would have been surprised had it not as he has always been one of my biggest influences.

I agree with you about the interview however, it was really nice to have someone that really knew all about the history of both MVH and Locust so in the end it was a good match.

Well, we should start work on a new Locust record at the end of the month! Stay tuned!

All the best,

Lou

Very cool that you're working with Mark, Lou

Looking forward to new Locust!

ChenGOD, I didn't record the stream because I saw that they provide the archives. You can get them from the link in my first post.

Bumping this thread because I just watched the "Washer Woman" performance they did for WFMU:

It's great, and the new album is fucking amazing (and their videos for it are great, too). I hope to see a lot more of this stuff from Lou and Mark! (and I'm super pumped about getting my CD in the mail, hopefully tomorrow)
