With an August release date on the horizon, Blondes could have dangled the carrot for the months leading into the official release of their sophomore record, Swisher. The band or the label or a PR agency could have selected a real banger from the record, most likely "Andrew", to re-introduce fans to Blondes without rustling the foundation built from the self-titled debut. But that would betray the growth of Blondes.

On Swisher, Blondes are concerned with bangers, hits, or anthems. Nary a track falls beneath the four-minute mark as Blondes concern themselves deeply with epic progressions that seemlessly transform over heady durations without losing the percussive core. Swisher is best understood in full and with respect to that, RVNG Intl. placed the record on Bandcamp a full month before its release date. The self-titled debut took Blondes throughout Europe, beyond the DIY haunts, to bigger clubs, open air stages, and wired to some of the best Euro-sound systems. It's as though Blondes, having got a taste, wanted to return with something that will really explore the possibilities of those illustrious systems.
