just wanted to share this project that came to my attention today:

hope somebody else digs this as much as i do. white guy goes to kenya isn't the best idea for an album but it looks like a lot of good times were had and the music is actually pretty interesting.

this looks cool. I've loved every time I've been able to play or learn from african musicians. It's undeniable that music and rhythm just flows much more naturally from them, western prudishness makes everyone self conscious, there music and dance are like living and breathing.

lol yeah, i know plenty of americans who refuse to even try to make music because they think they'll be bad at it (wtf). prudishness is something a lot of us share.

should also mention that gull is (currently?) on a US tour w/ two of the dudes they met in kenya, they'd be fun to go see and hang out with
