Bags - Ice/Straw

Hello, together with my good friend Šuljo (https://soundcloud.com/shuljotekochee) we formed a duo called Bags and made two tracks :) We are both hiphop-beat makers so I hope that'll describe what to expect.... Enjoy!

I enjoyed Straw, my favorite section was the piano section and the last one. The only thing I'd do different really is have the piano in more parts, and it really seems some of the track needed another thing going on, also a choir sprinkled in different places would have been cool. The piano section is the only one that sounds 'full', if that makes sense, and perhaps the outro. That said I tend to make tracks with 3 or 4 things going on so I'm biased.

Ice on the other hand sounds pretty full. I like this the most definitely. Good job! Foreboding as shit.

You seem to really like Ice. I bet you have dozens of tracks with ice in the title :P

:D Just two tracks with Ice in their title - this one and Ice Tea. On the other hand I have a lot of tracks with beverages in their title: Ice Tea, Grey Tea, The Juice, The Milk (can we also include Yoghurt?).

Thanks on your feedback! Ice was Šuljo's idea and my remix of it, while Straw was my sketch and Šuljo's interpretation of it. Happy to hear you liked Ice :) I see what you mean with fullness, even tho mix-wise I think Šuljo beat me on Straw :D But all in all we are very close minded when it comes to production and will definitely work together some more, it was a good experience

Oh, well you guys are pretty close with the mixing. You utilize the same TRIX. I did feel like Straw was very different from your usual stuff but I still felt it could be you. With Straw it feels like there's enough room for a rapper to rap over it, but since it's electronic instrumental, there probably needs to be more there to take up that space. IMHO. All I believe it needs is an additional accompaniment in some parts.

I like that sizzling sound. Is it something frying, or perhaps distortion applied to running water or something?

Ice sounds more like a track made for an mc imo, well done
