All fighting games these days do this - Street Fighter, Tekken, Samurai Shodown, Smash, etc. - they have some sort of "season pass" available that gets you the DLC fighters as they come out, or you can purchase them individually at a higher price. Considering how many characters Smash Ultimate comes with by default, I would hardly call 5 DLC fighters a "cash grab" on Nintendo's part.

Looks like he's getting his own master catalogue of tracks put together - probably a result of going though his old cassettes and DATs and archiving them to digital before they die...

No; digital release would be simultaneous with physical CD release. Yes, most likely, although if we can do it through WATMM, we could save $$$ and not give Kickstarter a cut Well, I would hope it will happen before then! (and presumably your mixes will have improved before then as well)

I will be very surprised if Google Stadia takes off or becomes anywhere near a threat to Microsoft or Sony in the realm of game consoles... Then again, I am surprised Apple Arcade is getting as much attention as it has been... who knows - maybe this is the beginning of the age of streaming games (which interestingly is closely mirroring the transition from digital downloads to streaming music).

In short, the status is it has not started yet (hence this thread to collect all the ideas and suggestions beforehand) - trying to carve out the time to work on the logistics of setting this up. But, to address your comments and concerns: RE: Vinyl Version - this would be independent of the actual release, likely on CD - think of it as like a Kickstarter where if x people pledge support for a vinyl version, we'll do one - if not, then no worries. Other than the artwork being formatted for the vinyl sleeve and labels, I don't think much on the mastering side would need to be done (do releases need to get mastered differently for vinyl vs CD?) RE: Voting - the first compilation's voting didn't happen until all tracks were submitted (we had a formal call for entries and no tracks were available for listening until voting commenced), and most likely the voting module here on the forum will be what we use where users won't be able to see the votes until they cast their own vote(s). I'm thinking whether we should allow a "top 3 tracks" voting option, or just one vote per person. Artwork - thanks! I think we will either contract with an artist to do something, or perhaps even have a mini contest for the artwork/design as well so those of us who are not musically inclined can participate as well.

Got our Switch Joy Con back from Nintendo, all repaired and they kept the limited edition casing (it was from a limited-edition Pokemon Let's Go Evee/Pikachu Switch bundle)! I must say, the turnaround time was pretty good. Nintendo stands behind their stuff!

Of course they're going to have a Sword/Shield bundle... they already have one for the Switch Lite, so I would very surprised if they didn't have one for the Switch itself as well.

Cool - just make sure you get the newer model (Google on how to tell the difference) - it's highly likely any really good sales on Switch consoles will be the older one (nothing really wrong with that, but the newer models have better battery life).

If you envision yourself using the Switch in portable mode more than sitting hooked to a TV, you might consider a Switch Lite and save yourself some $$...

The front page just cycles though recent topics that currently have activity - if you want a long, detailed list of what's new or changed, then Activity Feeds are what you need.

Where on the forum are you referring to - the front page? Honestly, one of the best new features is the Activity Streams (see under the Activity tab at the top) - you can create custom ones just for things you want to keep up on.
