into the void
Your fecal deposit was comparable to a Black Sabbath song?
yes, it threw a ham at my neighbours and had two annoying children

Yeah I meant to mention Nobukazu Takemura, although I haven't heard much from him... cool stuff though! I read he did sound design for one of those sort of toy robot dog things that were really popular a few years ago.
the sony AIBO. i used do tech support for it

Oh yeah there's a couple of bossa nova type songs on the Katamari Damacy soundtrack.
the katamari soundtrack is fucking amazing

Every fucking one of those other Eno Ambient series albums is better than Music for Airports. Even Ambient 3, Laraaji the guy w/ the zither is better than Ambient 1. Soulless robotic process theory record. Absolute worst genre defining record of all time.
hmmm, whilst i don't necessarily agree, i do think that discreet music is better than any of the 'ambient' series.

Protect & Survive - Music For Your Domestic Nuclear Shelter
Every year, as the weather turns colder and the leaves have left most of the trees, my mind turns to 'comfort library' music. Music as warming as a big bowl of soup, with perhaps a chilling blob of crème fraiche in the middle. Or something. So, this morning, quite by chance, I dug this out while the Jb household had breakfast (not soup). It's a compilation I put together in 2004 and was given to a handful of friends on CD. I think about 4 people have heard it so far. The object of the exercise was to think about the music the government would possibly provide in the event of a nuclear disaster, so it's all library music and a lot of it very 'comforting'. Think of this stuff being piped through stereo systems or on special governmental radio stations, in reassurance that 'everything will be fine, don't worry' and you're about there.
new old* cafe kaput library music mix: http://cafekaput.blogspot.com/2010/11/protect-survive-music-for-your-domestic.html
i'm thinking of modding this into a fallout new vegas radio station...
*jon made it in 2004.

Seems pretty reasonable as a genre to me. I mean I'm not about to call Sunn O))) ambient...
i dunno, some of white2...

i was just observing (granted, in a rather baked manner) that both use 80s video ident tropes. although justice do it in a far slicker, more polished kinda style and therefore kinda miss the point in my opinion.
-
Wasn't that pre-VHS Head, I'm sure I saw that video quite a while ago ....
aaactually. i was gonna say it was pre-TROG but not video club... but it predates both of em. similar kinda theme, but i'm actually ok with VHS looking like this rather than vice versa. *selfpalm*
-
y'know the way youtube picks a frame to display as the picture when you aren't playing the video? (yeah i'm aware both are based on video idents from the 80s, but...)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50BBNZ-ejjU&feature=player_embedded#at=19
now press play...
tl;dr holy fuck justice ripped off vhs head, stuck a 4/4 beat kick on it, and nobody noticed?
edit: i see white mask is reading thread. hi, white mask, i like your music.
