  1. Blue is the Warmest Color.

I enjoyed it, acting was superb, especially the main character, so much was said without being said. I liked how intimate all the shots were, all the close ups.

A couple caveats, the film had a weird pacing, I still felt like she was in high school by the end of the movie even though years had passed. It didn't feel like a lot of time had passed even though it did, maybe I didn't catch all the subtle changes in mannerisms and decor. Also, sex scenes went on way too long, couldn't help but feel it was male gaze (but there is an interesting, almost self aware conversation about female orgasm mysticism in the film)

Expensive as hell, but so so good.

Yes indeedly doodly, one of my favourite stouts.

I've never tried this. It's on my radar now though, looking to see if I can order it from zyn.

My beer friend says these age really well, probably gonna get a pack and save them for winter

My all-time favorite beer. I own the hoodie. I haven't been drinking much lately but I'd guzzle one of these down any day.

I have to say, pretty impressed. Not the biggest stout man but this definitely had some complexity and a nice sort of smokey musk that I have to respect.

Huh... so kind of like a guitar pickup that you can point at stuff I suppose? I can see that being fun to experiment with-- I was once considering making a "pipe-bomb" mic (which is similar except the pipe translates the sound into electromagnetics that the guitar pickup then sends off)... but... I'm not too handy with that kind of stuff....or motivated to start welding things.... Anyway, can't wait to hear what you do with that. Cheers.

I'm gonna use it for sound designs. Probably not any music.

Wanna give us a sample pack?  :whistling:  :emb:

  4. The coffee I've made for the last week has been tasting weird and metallic, and I can't figure out what part of the procedure is ruining it and it's driving me fucking CRAZY

My coffee has been tasting like shit for about a month now. Apparently I need to "de-scale" it, basically give it a deep cleaning by running water and vinegar through it.

my retarded toilet keeps backing up, piss water all over the floor  :cisfor:

There's a guy in my workplace that lines the toilet seat with paper towels and then flushes them. The plumbing in there is already bad, so it clogs constantly. I've been in there when I was trying to flush and then shit water starts coming out of the drain in the floor :wtf:

Lol, thought San Francisco infrastructure was impeccable.

  7. You are being quite logical.

    Your friends are being lazy.

Thank you!  They just kept saying 500,000 is enough

clearly you would just pay someone 100,000 to deal with the pennies for you. i would myself sort out 2 million pennies for 100,000. surely it would only take days, or a week? i dunno.

Oh shit, that's only a couple truckloads, maybe only one. For some reason, i was picturing like 10+ truckloads of pennies

  8. I was getting kind of annoyed with a friend when presented a hypothetical of either getting $2,000,000 worth of pennies dropped off to your place $500,000 as a direct deposit to your checking account. I feel like the obvious answer is to take the 2,000,000 and although there is a lot of work involved in storing/counting/transporting the pennies, you could just hire a consultant for the operation and give them something like $100,000+ like another $100,000 for expenses (work, storage, drivers, security) when the work is finished and the pennies are deposited to your bank.

My friend and another person both said they'd take the 500,000... wut. What about you guys, am I being illogical here?

    Primer (2004)

Making sense of something like Memento is a cakewalk in comparison to this... any tips? The numerous charts and wikis are almost as baffling as the film itself.

Still though, very enjoyable and very well shot given the $7k budget. 7/10

There's this huge timeline graph available...

Basically, the only way this movie could've worked is if it were a tv miniseries

  10.

Nope, I like lens flare etc. :D

What're shooting with? I've found that with my lenses, even shooting direct into the sun, it's difficult to get flare and contrast fades. Bonus in one respect, but not if that's the kind of aesthetic I'm going for.

I think I'm gonna have to get some vintage glass and an adapter mount...

Well these ones I just used my phone, I've had some nice photos on my DSLR but don't always have it with me.

What! You don't always have your camera on you? For shame.

  11. any time i go into trader joes i get really freaked out like i'm high and everyone knows. all the workers are waaaaay too happy to be there, calling each other "mate" and "captain" and people at the checkout are ringing goddamn ship's bells to call managers over to congratulate customers on donating money to an elementary school. i just want some cheese bro, chill out.

FLOL! I religiously shop at trader joes and get this feeling every time i'm in the store. I actually had a situation today where i seriously was trying to figure out if my cashier was on cocaine or not. We had a brief but passionate conversation about the sourdough bread I was buying.

  12.

Developed feelings toward a friend and after we started hanging out a lot more and doing date-ish things (movies, sit down dinner, bars) i asked her out. She was surprised, said she was down, but i could sense some reluctance. Anyway, went on a date and to make a long story short, she wanted to stay friends.

I'm pretty bummed because I was liking the idea of dating someone I already know but i guess it's back to the okcupid grind of trying to meet up with women I don't even know. This dating angst is kill me.

Hey, dude. I was searching this post since I had something to tell' ya.

I think we're similar in that context. But my approach has been to actually not try to conquer a woman. In fact, I mostly ignore them. I just focus on me, my passions, my life. And you know what has happened? Girls became interested in me. For some reason they love to be ignored. And that's okai since I really don't care about love atm, but it is nice sometimes.

My point is that don't get sad or something like that, always focus on you and you only. Do what you love, do it well. Love will fall down like a gazing star in the least expected moment for you. I know.

Eh, i've heard people say this but i'm a much more active person than passive. I don't like the idea of things passively falling into my lap
