  1. i vaguely remember that film being quite terrible. by that film i mean all films.

This post basically summarizes this entire thread.

just wanted to jump in here and say Blade Runner was objectively speaking, a fucking horrible movie.

    YOU'RE A FUCKING HORRIBLE MOVIE!!!

  2. Haven't seen Trance, but Danny Boyle is such an odd director. On the one hand he's likable because he's a bit fresh and raw and unpretentious, he's kinetic, he likes youth and energetic soundtracks, he's versatile....and on the other hand he seems drawn to cheese, vacuity, style over substance, catharsis-as-an-MTV-video....

I liked Trainspotting but I can't say I've liked any of his other films completely. They are usually decent, fresh, and somewhat appealing...but I just don't get what drives the guy. I think it's the general idea of catharsis and a breakthrough to find one's "true self" in the face of adversity, but the way he does it often feels almost laughable (like the end of Sunshine).

Forgot Boyle did Sunshine, god that movie was shit....

  3. Reading Slaughter House Five again, last time i read it i was in junior high so im definitely picking up a lot more than my first first read. Completely forgot what the unifying point of the book is, it sometimes seems like there is no point

  4.

umm. does anyone remember a video (there was a whole channel of them) of some old guy giving tours of park walkways, and it was really poorly edited and a little amusing?

Is this dude seriously. Couldn't help but laugh every-time the editing cuts off the end of his sentences.

I still can't find a job so I have to spend all my time DJing and writing badass tunes. It's gotten so out of hand I've written like 4 hours of music in 2013.

    *high five*

Not getting work is the best/worst. I haven't been working enough for... a long time, and I've been pretty productive as a result. The bank account's certainly seen better days though. I'd have one month left of the freewheeling life were I not able to draw from sources that still owe me money. Being a near-inept-and-patient-as-fuck business man does have its rewards in a weird way, provided I get clients that are decent, honest people --so far it's been the case in all but one instance.

Now im curious about this "one instance"

There was this girl who wanted to release a CD of Christmas covers for her friends and family. After she sang the songs, it was my job to arrange all the music -bass, guitar, keyboards, percussion, etc. She said to just add whatever I thought it needed. So I did, and when i told her how much she owed me she said something along the lines of "but I didn't realize I had to pay for that, I thought those would be like the finishing touches or something..." So she just ends up refusing to pay for all the work I did (around $200) and I'm stuck with all these shitty christmas carols. I did end up turning her cover of Silent Night into a noise track that made its way onto the 2011 watmm xmas comp. It was deeply satisfying mangling her vocals for that! I might release a noise EP of the rest of her covers this xmas.

Lol, noise is what those tracks needed. So pretty much the only thing she contributed was a vocal track?

edit: you should give her the noise tracks for free

  6. Trance: Pleasantly suprised, maybe my favorite Boyle film (although trainspotting comes close.) Gripped from beginning to end, love how the story was told while i was constantly questioning what was real and what was fake. Pacing was engaging and fun. 9/10

  7. Spring Breakers

Gucci Mane: "Damn baby. Feels like you playin' piano on my dick. Feels like you playin Mozart."

    10/10

Gucci Mane was the best thing about that movie. I almost jumped out of my seat when i recognized him

I had a dream where I met an autistic girl who always talked about death, and ghosts and death... It was pretty creepy, because I was like in her house (a mansion) and there was a part where I was walking up the stairs and, suddenly, I see her just standing up in her dark outfit and her black, long hair... Holy shit.

Weren't you saying in another thread that this autistic girl is real?

I've always been interested in everything involving brain/mind anomalies, like autism. So I don't think that the girl I talk about has anything with the dream. Actually the girl I'm talking about is the one in my avatar. She's weird as fuck! But I don't want to say anything here because I want to respect her privacy (for now ;)

Want to respect her privacy but post with her picture as your avatar, keeping it classy. Anyways, she looks like a keeper :)

  11. Spring Breakers: I understood what the director was trying to convey, how the youth become shallow and violent through the media glorification of spring break. But in the end, i didnt feel like there was a lot of substance in the movie and i went into it thinking it'd be a lot more shocking. There was so much fluff, it was a little unbearable but i guess that's kind of the point, to show how shallow these girls are. Decent concept that could've been done a lot better in my humble opinion

Black Dynamite: Best film ever made 10/10

Im lonely and there's no interesting women in my life

Something I've learned, late btw, is that there's always someone for you. But if you really want to get laid with her, you need to talk. Really! Recently there was a girl who's kinda austistic or something, and always used to ignore me. But, one day, I simply told her: "Hi!", and she started to talk with me again! Wow!

Did you get laid with her?
