Slowdive - Pygmalion
Great album for late night listenings. Feels like being underwater in the nighttime. Album adaptation of what heroin would feel like based off of people's experiences

Carl sounds pretty stoned in this vid

a multi-layered art-haus film that uses of dialectical conflict to tell his story of unbridled capitalism. polarities such as streetwise beach girl - naive farm boy, brash new marketing ideas - conservative ideas, hard work - play at work, bikini on - bikini off are presented.
a cinema classic that won 6 awards for bodacious bodies, hot boobies and best dramatic actor (kristi ducati)
Looks deep

Had a dream i was still in finals then i woke up and realized i'm done and have no scholarly obligations for about another month.

I got an 89.6% in my Cultural Anthro class. She still hasn't posted my official grade so i hope she either rounds or curves. If only i had gotten one more question right...

Finished Dick's "A Scanner Darkly", became one of my favorites from him, sharp-written as usual with a beautiful ending. I still haven't found better than Ubik in his bibiography but that one came pretty close, very personal and well built. I then started to read The Stand by Stephen King, in its full version. But I gave up after 300 pages (out of something like 1200 pages). It's really easy to read just like any other King novel, but really long, too easily understandable and, finally, boring. A big disappointment since the book's almost mystical status amongst fans. Earlier in the month I went trough Lisey's Story which was way better. And finally I started reading Alice in Wonderland in its original version - thought I should give it a chance...
The Stand is one of my favorite books. I love the flow, i love the environment and situation, i love the characters. I kinda feels like 3 books of a series combined into one but the length is nothing to complain about, fastest page turner i've read
Also, I wouldn't call call the ending of A Scanner Darkly beautiful. I thought it was sort of sad and hopeless if i remember correctly

Also, I noticed that there are many people who think a leak is Autechre-made, and then love it, but when the official release is there the leak sucks all of a sudden. Some people really don't know anything about what Autechre would do.
i know this all too well and received major backlash from the very same people who praised my work when they thought it was AE during the Untilted fake. I think a lot of the time people actually get offended or hurt feelings based on the fact that their own ears deceived them if for no other reason
Well, one could see it as a form of plagiarism and or identity theft. Things most of us aren't ok with

the fact that so many of my interests tend towards male-dominated areas completely discourages me from pursuing them further :(
and these areas would be?

started out with this awesome future-grime beat idea in mind, and it ended up turning into shitty trap music.
what the fuck
Wow, it sounds like a completely different song when the main beat kicks in

Aesop Rock - Skelethon. THIS IS AWESOME. i bought it at the local record store after listening to it a couple times. Great beats, obscure lyrics. Been reading the hidden meaning on rapgenius.com. 2nd favorite album this year against Swans - The Seer
9/10. 9 for a few weak tracks near the end

"Huh, Strange pictures thread, what's this?"

Primer - 8, one of the few movies about time travel that actually makes "sense" and thought through. character dev (history and stuff) could've been bit wider i suppose, maybe if it had just been a bit longer.. either way great.
Wait, you actually "got" primer. It went completely over my head. I felt like the characters were communicating to each-other rather than communicating to the audience. Needed more explanation.

I've been listening to The Seer a lot lately. Haven't listened to a lot this year but the albums that i have, have been rather disappointing. From the albums i've heard, this is my AOTY at the moment. Very refined sound and emotions. Haven't felt the same way emotionally toward any other piece of music i've listened to. there are some parts that kind of fall short but im still surprised that it manages to stay so consistently good throughout 2 hours. I think Soundtracks for the Blind is a much more fucked up album but the Seer still holds up Swans fucked up undertones. 9/10

^ lol. then there's the guys who go solo commando and try to run ahead of everyone, triggering the Tank and leaving the others to battle him while they go straight for the saferoom and just wait it out. it's always sweet when they get smoked or hunter'd and the rest of the team just ignores it.
I haven't played on Xbox, I played on PC with the Steam community. pretty decent players on there, for the most part. you can always use the vote function to get rid of annoying people, provided your whole team isn't like that...
I like how the game completely fucks you over if you go solo. I kinda wish the AI would follow you a bit more closely cuz i feel like they stay too far back and let you take all the hits

I've played L4D on and off for a while but just recently bought it for a good price. Play with my brother when he's around. How's the Xbox Live community when it comes to cooperation, i feel like other people would fuck you over

Been playing the first Left 4 Dead, mainly survival on the last stand map. Not that great at it since i haven't been playing video games that much. Im getting around 4 minutes each time, 6 minutes at best. Any tips on how to survive longer?

Saw Malcom X by Spike Lee. Really liked it. Probably one of the longest movies i've ever seen, 200 minutes. It was paced really well so it didn't feel like Lord of the Rings. Great character arch and an interesting character at that. Very tense scenes. I think i liked the first half a little better than the second half because there were some really stand out scenes in the first half. All in all, great film throughout and a fitting watch for MLK weekend
