I made another slower (dub?) like track while still getting used to my new setup.
Definitely dub vibes. This track is great. But like the previous one, my ears want to hear some lead element come in, whether that be a melody, a repeating vocal sample, or a really tight beat on top of the sludgy dub beat. Or not. Telling me to go fuck myself is valid too.

It's been a while, so I hope it's not uncouth to start a new thread for this new slower jam I made.
I love the textures too. This track is begging for a melody!

Yeah, indeed. I plan to go through the archives. Most of that stuff is not great but there’s definitely some good moments here and there to sample.

It's really good! I don't know if I never knew, or knew and simply forgot (either way my loss), but I didn't know you were making tunes...? The other tracks on your SC are quite nice too.
I'm guessing all of these other tracks I'm finding under Make Mills on BC are you as well? Lovely, have something to dig into next weekend
I’ve been making tunes for quite some time but only started making songs that felt releasable or nearly so in the last year. It took me a long time to put all the pieces together. So I’ve taken down a lot of my old stuff and will continue to do so. More new stuff coming out.

This is quite nice! Are you putting it up for purchase anywhere? I'd definitely grab it on bandcamp to go driving around to.
Wow. Thanks. Yes, I will eventually. I’m putting together a couple more tracks with a similar vibe and then I’ll put it up on my Bandcamp. Thanks again!

Oh wow. Thanks for all the love on this track.

Yeah man, everyone made their own interpretation. We all hear things through our own lens of emotion and experience.
But! There will be a volume 2! And, this is going to be a little net label that branches off from its original boc-inspired beginnings.
Hit me up if you are interested in releasing with us:

Wow that was really beautiful. I really like the way your track has a sort of depth to it, so that the melody comes up in front, the rhythm and harmony is sort of steady behind it, and then there's this beautiful hazy background of reverberation It sounds like you spent a lot of time on it!
Not even sure what to say other than it's amazing to hear that someone connected with something that you made. This is really nice and I appreciate it a lot.
You've all been so kind with your feedback. Here's one more for you. I've tried to marry my boc influences with the enduring sound of acid bass lines. I feel like this is my best attempt so far. If you took a moment to listen, I would be in your debt.

Just gave this another listen. I want to like this but it’s impossible. The guy has a great feel for composition. And yes, the BOC aesthetic as mentioned.
But ultimately this is a great listen if you enjoy BOC but hate catchy melodies and memorable beats. If meandering soundscapes is your jam you will love this. If you like to hit play and then realize 10 minutes later you don’t know what track is on because they all sound the same, you’re in luck. I’m imagining this guy playing live and a bunch of dudes standing there stroking their chin beards and nodding approvingly.

That’s a good analysis. I had no idea what I was in for when I first listened. So I feel bad that I colored everyone else’s opinion already. But on that clean listen, I heard a knowing and sincere exploration of that classic Warp era (mostly boc, but not just them).

Honestly, that's so kind. I can't thank you enough. I'm so in love with acid and jungle that I can't stop thinking about it. So to hear that other folks can dig my take on it is so amazing. As for an album, I'm slowly putting together tracks. The tracks that I post here are almost the final versions. Here's another one.
Thanks for listening.
