  1. I always wanted to get into Coil and today I randomly remembered this band so I think it might be the right time.

What are some of the essential albums?

I did listen to a few of their records for a bit but it was years ago so you can consider me pretty much new to Coil.

  2. idk how he does that but his sound design is always sooo pleasing to the ears and just extremely soothing. i imagine this is how ASMR affects most ppl (i personally can't stand ASMR, it sounds creepy and just unpleasant to me). when people talk about analogue warmth, well, this is as warm as the most comfy blanket i can imagine.

I didn't know eticycline and I didn't understand the relationship with numbers, but since I am dyscalculic as fuck, if it's a kind of ketamine that also makes me reconcile with numbers, then I'm in

btw, MOT with K. =  perfect journey... but which Ae is not?
Once a friend - who doesn't like Ae - tried ketamine for the first time.  He was a little wary but curiosity won him; when the situation got up, just before slipping into the hole, he struggled to whisper "I'm not surprised you like this stuff, it's autechre".

tried i believe four different dissos years back but music always sounded like shit on dissos for me unfortunately

now lysergamides - that's a completely different story

Many can say Gantz Graf but in EP7 It already had elements of Gantz Graf and EP7 was released earlier.

You're right about the long span between EP7 and Gantz Graf release dates but Gantz Graf was recorded during the same time period as was mentioned in the AAA thread.

  5. to me the consistency is no "surface illusion" because i myself didn't mean that each track is the same by that but that the album sequencing (position of the tracks) is top notch and thus has a really nice flow so the whole thing sounds like a consistent piece that justifies the album format. it sounds like a concept album (for lack of better words) unlike PLUS which sounds like a collection of songs sometimes almost in random order.

  6. thanks for bringing this to attention. i haven't listened to SIGN/PLUS for weeks, i needed the break (as always) but because of this thread(a) i've listened to the track individually just now and found a new appreciation for it

I've held my tongue on this so far while being a member of this forum but seeing as you're in the market for it, I really Really recommend you take a look at the Motas-6 if you're looking for a fancy mono. It doesn't have keys but it also costs quite a bit less tan your other two options and also offers (imo) quite a lot more (like simultaneous access to 3 filters)

I have a bunch of demos of it up on Soundcloud if you want demos.

sorry, totally forgot about this thread... i've listened to your samples and Motas-6 sounds lovely for sure

i went with the Pro 3 (now waiting for it to arrive), apart from making weird electronic music i play in a post-rock band. i play mostly guitar but i've been using 1010music BlackBox to trigger some beats and synth sequences and wanted to pair it with some mono synth beast with keys (i.e. w/o the need for a controller). Pro 3 is ideal for this because of its immediacy + the onboard effects are very handy, otherwise i'd have to remove my Ventris from the pedal board and use it with the synth. also bonus points for how stunning it will look on the stage lol.

  8. i've read some hate on esc desc (not here) and i was like wha- how?! it's probably my most fave track of the whole SIGN/PLUS bunch. i don't usually like overly melodic AE tracks that much but esc desc is epic af.

(i've never liked see on see but love esc desc, is that weird?)

Can. Not. Stop. Listening. To. This.

What a perfect hour of music. Here is a recent star photo while jamming this outside one night - thought it fit really well...

    that looks amazing!

just recently i randomly snapped a pic of a standard black vinyl record with the flash on and it did an interesting effect. looks kinda similar lol

Your dedication is fascinating. I think Bitches Brew is a masterpiece and possibly my fav by Miles. Not gonna claim I understand all the intricacies and music theoretical concepts behind it, but it's pleasant to listen to.

I wonder if AE listen to much jazz and if it has influenced them.

I always thought irlite (get 0) is what jazz would sound like if jazz musicians would keep up with new technology like Davis used to throughout the decades of his work.
