I think you're quite right, but I think of the reviewer as having managed to convey the admiration in a way that bypassed the Pfork ironic douche review requirements.

Disagree with the review hate, by the way. It might be a little undergraduate to parody G,E,B but of course that book was itself parodying Galileo. And to me the core of the review is something I quite strongly agree with - To me that's not a sentence written as a smartass parody, it's a personal statement which is wrapped in the ironic parody because it's maybe uncool to admit that Autechre are something special. BUT, he gets points from me for saying it anyway.

I should add that we had heard Simmm via Mary-Anne Hobbes and I think Tankakern, WNSN and Rale via another online radio show about Jan 17, prior to the early release.

Can't recall it leaking. Announced for March 3rd but released digitally Jan 30th 2008. The metal case edition was announced on the day of the early digital release.

Hey - I fell for fakes the last TWO albums, I think. This is just part of the buildup. Next will be the press photos, then taking the piss out of the press photos. Then someone will hear a track on the radio in Ulan Bator, an intense fight will break out, it will be derided as a fake and then a month later when it is released early we will go back and realise it was real after all.
