    it amazes me that some people are annoyed these live tracks are on there because they have already heard them, even if the tracks havent changed much they are still going sound so much better in proper quality and all of them are as lush as fuck!

     

    I'm not annoyed that these tracks are on the new release. I just don't want them to be the best tracks on it seeing as I've listened to them forever & thus will lack any major surprise. I wanted 100% surprise for purely selfish reasons. I would agree that the mixes are probably different to some degree & will undoubtedly sound a million times better. I'm hoping Joyrex's foreshadowing implies he's heard Syro somehow & the tracks we haven't heard are beyond the tracks already discussed. But, seeing as Rich has played those tracks in the past to an audience, I would venture to think those are the ones he feels are "best" & what is on the album may be less than.

     

    In any case, we have 2 more albums to look forward to after Syro. :whistling:

     

    It's amazing this stuff is 6-7 years old, but is groundbreaking and innovative as ever. You really have to admire Richard's dedication to his craft.

     

     

    Well, not all are that old. He said that there are several new compositions, which I would take that to mean in the past few years.

    And I totally admire his ears, he wouldn't be one of my favorites if not. Guy can put toons together (everybody has probably seen vid below, but Rich is a monster composer when you hear his shit in another light). As for craft, he's got that Axl Rose Chinese Democracy thing without being Axl Rose's Chinese Democracy.

    i've never listened to any of the metz, manchester or singapore tracks. ever. something about my ocd and them not being "official" (whatever that means) that I just don't care.

     

    it will sound fresh to me!! I'm so excited.

    and if anyone's in doubt that the rest of the tracks won't hold up to the 'known' stuff he's played live... well, trust me - that's just the tip of the iceberg.

    I'm kinda less hyped about Syro now. I love metz/singapore/manchester, but I've heard them a thousand times already. I have a fear those will be the best tracks on the new album & the rest of the tracks won't live up to the hype-machine, 13 year drought expectations. Really, expecting a perfect album from front to back from Rich is completely unrealistic imo. This could be the worst comment in the thread so far, but it's how I'm feeling. I hope I'm proven wrong.

     

    I agree that you shouldn't expect a perfect album from front to back. That seems to be the problem a lot of people had with the BOC release last year. It wasn't really a 13 year drought, though: more like 7.

     

     

    Yea, I wasn't really counting analord/Tuss, I kind of put them in a different category. I was just going back to druqks for some reason.

    I was looking on Instagram last night and there's a fair amount of stuff under the #aphextwin tag. Lots of the stencils, some screenshots of the track list etc., but one thing that I hadn't seen before: a projection display in New York somewhere. As in, a huge Aphex 'A' logo/circle projected onto the side of a building. It looked like it might have been done by just amateurs, not anything official, but I wasn't sure. Anyone have info on that?

    edit: So now FlyLo has his you're dead video up on Warp to join Rusties interactive thang. Rich is on deck...maybe something early next week eh.

    So, has Richard popped up as a new member yet to fuck with everybody? I mean he's well aware of watmm and has a passing human interest & curiosity in what reaction to his recent activity has garnered I would surmise.

    Hmm. Not entirely convinced, but you make a strong argument!

     

    Here I have highlighted the horizontal lines that stem from the compression artifacts. They are not parallel. The squares seem to be of the same size, though.

    If you look into his pupils, it appears to be the person taking the photo in front of him. Shadowy outline visible in both. Easier to see in his left eye.

    Someone on the reddit said that running foldface-w.jpg thru stegdetect suggested there might be a file or text encoded with JPHIDE

     

    I've dug around a bit but all I can figure is that it at least needs a passcode entered to even have a chance at decoding whatever's in there

     

    Even then it could be a false positive, who knows

     

    Would be a cheeky nod to the past though if true

    With the quickness of the onion link in relative time to the chartreuse blimp/stenciling promotions, I would venture to say a sample is going to pop up very soon. Probably in a day or 2. Definitely by the end of the week. Shit's a fever pitch, and all parties know it. They're gonna capitalize on the momentum sooner than later.
