  1. It reads as if they sent him a press release to approve and he retranslated it until it met his approval. And Warp, being a fairly lenient label, accepted it.

Again, even the press release sounds like something V/Vm Test would write. Did he hire James Kirby to advertise for the release?

  2. started shadow of the colossus for the 1st time in years, had to adjust the controls a bit but it,s actually better than i remember, gorgeous too(hd remake)

also slowly earning money in elite dangerous, this is gonna be one of them games that just eats up your free time,so immersive/massive

I had the HD too and it is gorgeous but I feel that, without the unintentional slowdown the ps2 version had, some of the gravity + denseness the boss battles used to have is lost. Still a fantastic game though.

  3. John Lewis have halted their free monthly cake/hot beverage offer (worth £5) because too many people have taken advantage of it.

It was literally the only thing I had to look forward to. Scum. Sub human scum.

Why would they offer something to only be surprised people want it? Did they think it would only appeal to ten people and everyone else would gladly pay full price?

My co-worker/boss started to fall asleep driving 80 mph. He was really groggy and weird all day, but ok at times. It was for no real reason - I think he needlessly didn't sleep last night. So he was acting like he could drive then just fucking dozed off. After that I took over and eventually lectured him about how upset I was he would even do something like that. I felt like a disappointed dad.

I usually go straight home after work but I stopped at a corner store for cheap tallboy beer cans and unwound at home.

I'm leaving for an extended weekend vacation tomorrow, thank god.

I remember coming back from Ozzfest in some guy's rancid old Austin Metro and he admitted after he started driving that he was tired. And that the alcohol he had been drinking all day hadn't helped. And he was playing Changes by Black Sabbath on repeat as we drove.

Whenever I hear that song, I feel as if I am staring death in the face. I share your terror.

  4. So would it prudent to assume no dates/more info will be released until Warp have fully promoted/released Flying Lotus + Rustie? After that, regardless of whatever codes we crack (presumably meant to keep us busy in the meantime) we'll finally get a date. Imo.

  5.

Funny what an album announcement can you to your music listening habits, I've pretty much been binge-listening to his catalogue for the last couple of days, after not having listened to his music for more than a year or so.

I actually kind of forgot how good his music is, as ridiculous as that sounds.

    my sentiments exactly.

Me too, I've been listening to The Tuss + Steinvord all day

  6. Does Ceephax know what facebook is? He's probably still mourning ceefax, as are we all.

Today I hit my target weight of 80kg (I'm 6'4" so 80kg is healthy for my height), or near enough: the scales said 79.9, so I'm taking it as target hit for a total loss of 18kg. Only took me a year + 8 months![/sarcasm]

I celebrated with pizza + a strawberry sundae. Not that I don't eat those constantly anyway but still. Now to keep it off. With more pizza + sundaes + milkshake.

  7. Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki 10/10

Solid Murakami, all the things you wanted wrapped up nicely and plenty left out in the open for you to ponder forever, along with that melancholy he does so uniquely. And it's shorter than 1Q84 so double plus!

  8.

Again, the biggest mystery - these are both professionally-printed (from an offset printing press) images - that's quite a bit of expense to go through just for a promotional image if they were not part of the actual packaging or related promotional imagery.

Are you seriously suggesting the aphex machine is in lack of money, sponsored or otherwise?

Just because one has money does not need one has to spend it all

  9. I like Drukqs but split the album into peaceful songs + crazy breakbeat stuff. I honestly think it works better that way, although I haven't listened to it on vinyl and I hear this is the optimal way to hear it.

That said, I will def get vinyl this time instead of CD. CDs are worthless now really, aren't they?

If you are gonna do it, look for a hybrid SSD - you get a big performance boost from a regular drive at a little extra cost. No idea how they work but I've one on my laptop and it made a huge difference (N.B. this is different from a normal SSD which are still pretty darn expensive - this is a regular spinning disk but with a magic chunk of SSD that does some kind of witchcraft to cache frequently used files)

Duly noted! My old ps3 needs all the help it can get.

An SSD won't help a PS3 much at all - the interface is SATA I, and to see the speed benefits of a SSD, you need SATA II (ideally 3 - even the PS4 isn't SATA II and putting an SSD in that makes a nominal difference in load times).

Hybrid SSDs work on caching, but again the bottleneck on the PS3 is the bus (SATA I), so caching won't gain you much either.

Thanks for more info! The note I made duly before has been unnoted lol
