  1. the price of the seaboard is catrage inducing

    :catrage: :catrage:

Erm. The RISE is fairly cheap compared to similar controllers:

There will also be a KMI controller in the near future that works a bit like these and will be less expensive.

  2. Here is a random selection of tracks I consider...

There are some that i dont know in that list. I'll give them a shot.

By the way, Daniel Miller from Mute records talked about this very problem in a documentary I cannot find now. Might post it later if found.

    Cool. :catfallen:

  3. Thing is we know nothing about Jev yet and what he considers good music.

Neubauten says a lot about that.

I have to sometimes remind myself that people like the sound of these presets and drum machines etc so they do not need processing and turning into something new. I mean, basic drum sounds and presets are the main reason to buy/use something right?

Not for me, i delete all presets and sounds. You cannot develop your own sound using stuff like that.

The point is, this area of the internet is occupied by braindance / electro / noise artist. In my opinion it's only natural that these discussions come up. Jev has strong opinions resulting from his taste. A bit less cunty would be nice, yes. But that's not mandatory for having a proper discussion on things.

  4. It has some nice moments with a personality, but the tracks are too short and too underdeveloped for serious long-term listening experience. I think I prefer Einsturzende Neubauten instead. Crazy too, but more sophisticated and the longevity is better.

Sure, Neubauten was the better band, cause they actually had the chance to develop. "Halber Mensch", especially the video version is still in my top favs. ;)

    Just for info:

This music originates from the other side of the iron curtain. It was made deep down in east germany in the 80ies before germany united. They disapeared after 1991 i think. Today only one of them still makes music: https://www.youtube.com/user/acculap

  5. the Lead 3 seems so cool to me because of the 4 part multitimbrality, and the fact that the knobs "stay in position" of the patches when you switch between em, cus of the LEDs. you can do a helluva lot with just that synth alone.

Yeah, i wouldn't have bought it otherwise. I dunno why synth manufacturers dont add stuff like that to every synth out there. Maybe they dont have balls.

  6. How much you get the Nord Lead for?

Got it from a friend, special price.

is that a Lead 3? reeeally want one of those in rack forms. also I'm currently saving up for an Octatrack!

Yeah. This one is much too big. I dont need the keyboard. I control it with the midi sequencer on the octa. Rack would be much nicer for that purpose.
