  1. Me too - I really don't like having to play through the game again (with some minor variations) from the other character's perspective... Agreed. It is going a lot faster though, and there are some new cut scenes. Unfortunately, they give more questions than answers so far.
  2. Okay, so I got ending A on Nier: Automata and am going to try to keep going. I hear B is a slog, so we'll see if I can stick with it.
  3. I'm only a few hours in, but it is really fuckin good so far I got a chance to play for a few hours more yesterday - I'm in the desert. Things are getting weirder in this game... I like it! I'm a bit further ahead and it continues to get weirder than that. I don't really understand the weapons options, but I'm still slaying fools. Got to play quite a bit more... getting weirder (although a bit predictable now in terms of plot). Some beautiful environments. The weapon options become clearer as you upgrade them - it's typical JRPG stuff. Yeah I don't ever play JRPG's, so I'm a bit confused. I just use a massive fucking sword and missiles now. The DLC is amazing. I loved the original game and wasn't expecting much new, but the DLC really improved a lot of areas and had a good story as well. It's harder as well.

  5. I started Nier: Automata. Have never played a game quite like this.
  6. I didn't enjoy Metro much, so switched to Little Nightmares. Is like Inside/Limbo and pretty cool so far.
  7. Apparently they improved the stealth aspect a lot and migrated improvements from Last Light to 2033 (brightness, for example).
  8. Gave up on Gravity Rush and instead played What Remains of Edith Finch all the way through. Pretty cool game. Also got started on Metro 2033 Redux.
  9. Finally finished The Evil Within. It was hard, but pretty good. I started Gravity Rush Remastered. It's interesting, but vibe is kind of off. Not sure if I'll keep going.
  10. Which Wolf? The 2009 one? The New Order. 2014 I guess. The story wasn't interesting, and the battles became annoying after awhile. Also hated all the fetching at HQ. I've always disliked alternative history stuff though.
  11. Wolfenstein was kind of boring, so I switched to The Evil Within. I like it so far even though I've died a lot.
  12. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri Dug the acting (always love Sam Rockwell), and have a soft spot for films that don't treat middle America and the South as a bunch of idiots (I grew up in the South). Plot could have been a bit more interesting. 7/10.
  13. Oh man. Sorry to hear that. The Baba Yaga DLC is awesome. I just beat SOMA. A little overrated, I think, but well done. Just started on Wolfenstein: The New Order. It's pretty fun so far. Haven't played a proper shooter in ages.
  14. I didn't like Dying Light, so I switched to SOMA. Pretty interesting so far. They don't hold your hand much, but I always eventually figure out what to do.
  15. Hmm. Maybe I should try playing on hard next time I play. I find when dealing with larger Typhon, the Distruptor works well on Technopaths, Nullwave on Telepaths, and shotgun/Q-Beam on the Nightmare. Then again, the shotty will solve most of your Typhon problems. I definitely focused on the shotgun, which worked well for the Nightmare, but Technopaths would hit me with too much firepower before I could ever get enough shots off. Throwing up a Nullwave to start the fight made it easy though. Just beat the Frozen Wilds expansion. Pretty great addition. I was surprised by how it wasn't just extra missions, but new styles of play as well. I'm now going to trade Prey, Horizon, Uncharted and RE7 into Gamestop and get like $75 bucks in credits. Either going to start on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided or Dying Light next. I didn't struggle with the game at the end - I found it much easier at the end. I levelled up psychoshock and then farm nightmares and mass neuromods to level skills up. And make as many superfruits as you can so you always have full health and psi. A high level psychoshock and a shotgun blast or two and nightmare goes poof Man, I never even got the psychoshock ability. I also didn't understand how to get more than one superfruit. I did have a ton of medkits though. I also ended up with a ring I never used. Not sure what that was for.

  17. Finally beat Prey on hard. Such a mad scramble for me at the end to avoid enemies. Technocrats were impossible until I figured out the Nullwave. Pretty enjoyable game. Started on the Horizon: Zero Dawn expansion The Frozen Wilds. It's pretty sweet. More interesting side quests and harder enemies.
  18. Started Prey (on hard as suggested). It even takes the fonts from Dishonored, but I have no idea how to be stealth in it like you can in Dishonored.
  19. I just got back into gaming last year, and have avoided notoriously hard games. Only game I played on hard so far was Bioshock: Infinite (felt right until last big battle, which took forever to beat). So, is this a recommendation because the game is too easy, or because you're the type that enjoys really hard games?
  20. Finally beat Horizon Zero Dawn. I got close to 100%, but not all the way. Took me 80 hours. Really great game. Best I have played in a while. I'm going to try Prey next.
  21. Finished Until Dawn. Pretty fun. Now working on Horizon Zero Dawn. It's pretty lovely so far, but I'm a sucker for anything with a bow and arrow.
  22. Beat Resident Evil 7 (really enjoyed it), so jumped into Until Dawn. Can't tell if I'll like it yet, but it was $8 so what the hell.
  23. Almost through Resident Evil 7. I'm enjoying it a lot. It's genuinely tense for me.
  24. I'm still playing Hitman. I beat the game and all the side missions, but the real value is finding all different the ways to assassinate the targets on each level. So much fun.
  25. Was just thinking similar thoughts this weekend....though honestly I was straight up dreaming about some Super Mario 3/Galaxy type stuff. Obv I have no Nintendo so, suggestions? If you don't mind them being linear with a definitive end, Inside, Abzu, and Unfinished Swan all have simple controls you can play in small bits. They do finish after a few hours though.
