Actually, instead of giving money back to us funders, I'd rather invest it in something worthwile for the watmm site, organize another watmm CD-compilation with it, or whatever cools we can think of. Or am I too optimistic now?
I already suggested we cut the vinyl into as many pieces as are purchasers. We could make CW necklaces with little vinly fragment pendants.

i don't really understand the 'scale' concept and I don't really hear it either (it sounds like chromatic 12 tone scale to me) but I think the material on Sequence Level 5 is some of the best stuff Aleksi has ever done. Is the other stuff in the DVD set similar? I kind of regret not ordering one because I assumed it would be on the same tip as Astrobotnia
The 2 DVD's are very similar to Level 5, yeah. The Ovuca bonus CD sounds more like MU2 and MU3, while MU4 is the most playful album, with some acid stuff and computer voices, a bit like MU1 and the Boom Blaster Blaster period. No Astrobotnia style at all in these releases.
P.s., does someone have that article from The Wire about this already? Please?

The thing I wonder now, is this a Rephlex release or not? It's the first selfreleased one, so no more SRD. It also has no barcode, unless it is the small code in the center of the 2 DVD discs: 2239 514 -R E E 1011 (Level 1) and 2239 514 -R E B 3683 (Level 2). So that means it it's CAT#239. But where are 236-238? And why do Bochum Welt and D'Arcangelo both have #235?
Still lots of blank spots that need to be filled on the cat# list (223, 224 and 227-233, and now 236-238 apparently).
I think we're expecting a new bogdan raczynski album sometime this year aren't we?. I wonder if that's one of the missing ones?

There's probably more EDM comps on the way that could be 227-233 (as the first two were 225 and 226, would make some sense), and we have Colundi Sequence part 3 on vinyl, which will maybe also get another CAT#, but I doubt it. Also another Steinvord release that Grant once hinted at, maybe. The rest is a mystery!Anyway, now listening to MU4, this is fucking great!!!

These are such good times, already another release! I only had a chance to hear Ovuca Bonus CD yesterday, what a trip. Spacing out to Level 5 on headphones right now, this comes close to Biosphere's Autour De La Lune in terms of deeeep ultra low frequencies ambient stuff. Also a bit like Plastikman ala Consumed amirite?
This was so worth the wait already...

Both copies? It's before the last track of the 3 track side I think. I thought all copies had it, would be really bad if it was a pressing error instead of a concious decision...

I almost got the impression that the rips that were floating around the internet were intentionally leaked with poor quality, maybe to hide some of the awesomeness of the release. I don't understand why there would be 128kbps rips when vinyl is the source, most collectors of vinyl being pretty anal about sound quality. Know what I mean? Just seemed like a troll move to rip off vinyl on such low quality lol.
Exactly, why go to all the trouble of getting a vinyl setup, recorder etc... Then miss out half the data?
There's certainly something fishy about the whole thing for sure.
Besides, I actually want to buy the release, I like to think I'm supporting the acts in some way.
One time I was drunk and forgot that I already owned the vinyl and I ordered another one, so I've got two. If you ever want it I will give it to you if you pay postage/handling. Admittedly it might be cheaper to just buy locally though.
Besides that, it's not available to buy through shops anymore (at least, I've never seen it anymore and was lucky to finally buy one last year in some crummy shop in Amsterdam).
About those rips, I do have a really decent .flac rip of this, so I could finally throw away those crappy mp3 rips. I also rather play those .flacs than the vinyl because I don't have to deal with that annoying locked groove. What was up with that?
Imo, speculation about this is still completely useless until more info pops up. It's so ridiculously afx/squarepusher like, but the production is what makes me doubt everytime. It sounds muffled and not as crisp a sound as both of them since the 00's. All I can do is wait for that follow-up release Grant announced (if I remember correctly) back in 2011/2012?

Gonna bring this thread back, because I'm dying to know where he managed to get those samples of the kid talking in Kwikwidetrax. The first sample is pretty simple, but how'd he manage to find a kid saying (albeit a bit incomprehensibly) "Luke Vibert," "Wagon Christ!" I just fucking love those samples. Did he get his kids to say it?
Also anyone know if the opening melody in Tomach is a sample or just something he wrote?
Yeah must be his kids. They appear sometimes, doing voices or artwork (Ace Of Clubs covers for example).
Anyway, just heard two new tracks that were obviously sampled by Vibert, but forgot how one is called so I can't post it... but this is at least one:

jesus this is $42 for a CD/DVD!?!??! Is there no other way to get this?? Like via boomkat or norman or is it just through shady email dealings with aleksi. I mean who would I be to not support this man as I think he makes fantastic art but it's a little bizarre.
Also is this AP4? or just something new? I wanted AP4. I'm a completionist and nothing irritates me more than announced series that are left unconcluded.

It's a good point you bring up though dr. lopez, why do they have to do this through Aleksi himself instead of the usual distribution channels? This is obviously a Rephlex release so it should be through SRD?
Rephlex pwns god in working in mysterious ways. I think they are just constantly trying to test our OCD levels.

Little off-topic but does anyone know why YouTube keeps logging me in automatically on a Google+ account I don't even want to exist? That specific account has been connected to my main account that was made back in 2008, but everytime I start up my pc it has changed back to my 'professional' gmail account. Have to manually change every fucking time (multiple times a day) for the last week or so. Anyone that knows how to solve this?
Also, I have to log in 2 times more just so I can leave a comment. -

He emailed me back today to tell me "You don't have to wait much longer", which is exciting. I also asked him if he was selling any other copies of AP stuff, since I have a couple holes in my collection, and he said "No I don't have any other stuff on sale, yet. Will keep you posted."
Cool, cheers for sharing. There must be something brewing... Grant has been posting semi-cryptic stuff again today as well, but I'm more suprised by the presence of Grant in that article, did he co-produce? Weird.

I only recently discovered there are two albums worth of outtakes from Onclements and Lactavent. Both were leaked by Aleksi Perala himself around 1999 on his website (or p2p, not sure), so the quality is +-128vbr on the Lactavent Outtakes and 54kpbs on Onclements Outtakes. If you haven't checked it out, you should definitely dig this up!

Imo, the Lactavent Outtakes are way better than the actual album. Lot's of really oldschool warm braindance sounds instead of the chaotic raw Lactavent. -
