Every time a new episode has been broadcast, I download it in great anticipation and then I just have the screen in miniature so I can check watmm and facebook while watching those ultra boring scenes that take up 80% of every episode. What subliminal brainwave manipulation do they employ that keeps everyone tuned in to this?
Last episode was decent though, finally some quasi-fresh events that break through the mundane Walking Dead universe(the cure guy and the safeplace at the end of the railroad are potentially interesting, and I was hoping the 'unknown guys break into Rick's house' could turn into something interesting but no) but there´s too much soapseriesstyle bullshit going on, like the sappy bullshit between Maggie and Glen.

This track was the first track in a mix by PP Roy a few years ago and it always stuck with me.

These last posts here convinced me again in my choice of not buying any Coil stuff post-Peter's death. Before that I never found any Coil to buy though (only properly got into them around 2009). I´d really like one of those reissues because of that, but I'd rather give my money to artists that still exist and could use the money instead of exploitations like these (= what it reeks of).

So, what rpm speed IS this record? I still haven't received mine yet.
Record speed has always been one of Autechre secrets (meaning it's irrelevant)
Exactly why I want to know. I want to play the track slower, on 33 rpm. Is it a 45 rpm or not?
A side is 45, AE remix side is 33.
edit: and the ae remix is mindblowingly good. Def worth the purch.

Received my 12" today together with my Norman/Rephlex order, just when I have a day off. Good, good times. Anyway, the original track is amazing, shame the guy only takes up 5 minutes on one side. Now let's turn it over to some sheer AE madness...

Bump, but I now 'get' this album (and his first Rephlex album + EP) for some reason. First I disliked most of Jodey's Rephlex tracks, but started getting into it from his Black Narcissus X EP + EDM A2 and B2 albums. For some reason this track and Heidi Funk have an incredible Polygon Window vibe (even the occasional computer voice saying techno music, too obvious). This album sounded pretty bland and boring at first, but after a few listens it really opens up. I think it was just too much Jodey tracks thrown at you in one year. A++

Weird, the tracks above are gone already, but they have been replaced with these
Last one reminds me of Rsdio, which is one of my fave AE tracks.
P.s. I got a reply that it should be available very soon now, so. -
Mike sent me an autographed Machine Codes CD with my Chimera 12". Very cool of him.
Damnit, that could've been mine! He said he was going to send me some extra goodies because he shipped out too late, but he forgot (or mixed up packages?) and later send me the digital version only to make up for it. Still really nice since he only shipped out a week later so it didn´t bother me really.

due to the presence of dap walk + hook and boogie (both of which are sampled on Mind Bending by Plug, courtesy of this thread + whosampled) we can safely hypothesize that Mr. Vibert had this compilation in about 95'.

Just saw this post now. That Dap Walk track is especially great, I think I heard it on a liveset/radioset by Luke recently too (I was listening loads of them so I have no idea which one)

AAAAAAND another bump because he just uploaded two new tracks again:

Just popping by to say how ridiculously dark "The Field" from MU2 is, and how both MU2 and MU3 end on a really dark/weird ambient note. I never really noticed that until now for some reason. Hope the next 4 releases contain more experiments like this though.

I love how Grant 'promotes' this release (sort of) by commenting to random persons talking about scales and music theory, then deletes 90% of his comment (original message above the changed one):
- Grant Wilson-Claridge ditch the whole chromatic scale. explore the colundi sequence, where each note is based on several specific biological/physical/chemical/mental/emotional resonances. e.g. 90-111Hz - Beta Endorphin range. 126.22Hz - 32nd octave of Earth year, The Frequency Of The Sun, Color=Green, Tempo=118.3 BPM, centering of magic, Hara(chakra). there are 128 specific frequencies in the scale.ongeveer een uur geleden
- Grant Wilson-Claridge i.e. ditch the whole chromatic scale!57 minuten geleden
heheh very interesting, and you got it on time, thanks
grant is a bit picky with fb comments eh?
you said "to random persons", means hes commented more on TCS?
Yeah well there is this article doing the round (I think it's this one http://www.collective-evolution.com/2013/12/21/heres-why-you-should-convert-your-music-to-432hz/ ).
I only see that article on FB because Grant is posting some jibberish about Colundi underneath the article on some random persons page.
I'm still curious what happened to the conv when a guy (watmm someone?) asked Grant publicly on fb to give the (probably drunk) guy a track for free. It's been deleted now ofcourse.

And again a very lush new track from the Colundi Sequence was just uploaded.
bmp
anybody here has tried the tuning system used in mental union? maybe share tracks?
anybody else mad curious about the colundi sequence frequencies?
grant really sold me on this one
Only thing I know is that he had a tuning like the 'Well Tuned Piano' by La Monte Young in a track/some tracks on MU2 or 3. So.

That sample of the Autechre rmx really, really kicks ass. Need this asap.
edit aaaand pre-ordered with (finally!) the Cliffordandcalix Remix EP. -
It fits with the playful beat (imo), nice little track. Never thought a track like that would end up on MU4, considering the 'seriousness' of the previous editions. Nice to hear a sign of life with the project anyway.
I just realised again this is a f'in monster release, 4 albums + LP at once is madness. I can wait for it a little longer with that in mind... -
Did I see Grant replying on Wisp's facebook yesterday saying something about his new album? Hurray if so!

Some good shit on Mike's bandcamp, he even found an old box of the Chimera 12"!
Whoaa, thanks for that link man! Never even heard that EP, always thought that Chimera was a Rephlex-only project.
edit; ordered with the Fu Chin Ra EP, I need more of those nostalgic dreamy acid belters.

This album is a killer indeed!
Jason Doppler recently did a show on Intergalactic FM dedicated to the Kosmik Kommando, with a 20 minute or so Skype-interview with Mike Dred + a long mix by Doppler containing Dred's music through the years. They also talk about this release and more! Well worth a listen.

Well, I didn't get a reply from AP after almost two months to some very practical questions, which is pretty sad. With every other label or artist I would've already cancelled it but I have too much respect for these guys I guess. I remember waiting for the Zwischenwelt LP for almost half a year or so? Then they just cancelled it without any notice. I honestly wonder why they bothered posting the "coming very, very soon" with this release.

Beyond the Black Rainbow - BoC/10
One hell of a trip when watching drunk. Associations I got with it: Kubrick style, 1984 the movie from the same year, Huxley, Burroughs, John Carpenter, Legowelt soundtracks and: BoC. I'd like to know watmm's opinion on this movie as I have to rewatch this a lot of times and let it sink in. Both audio + visual design were absolutely amazing.+ fucking Venom in the soundtrack. WTF.

Damn fine. Applause!

Our/my wish of a Rephlex subforum is Grant'ed so let's start off with this bit of info for the lurkers that would otherwise be overlooked by many, I think. Already posted it in the AP Musik thread but this won't hurt I guess.
Anyway, for logic behind Rephlex' labelless albums, it's all in the barcode:
6669080 = rx barcode prefix
202 = cat number
2 = bpi format code (cd=2, 12"=6 etc)
1 = numerical check digit
So the Rephlex cat. nr's are:
239: apmusik colundi sequence (?)
236-238: ?
235: bochum welt good programs
235 : d'arcangelo, audiovisual design
234: apmusik mu3
227-233: ?
226: edm b2
225: edm a2
223-224: ?
222: photodementia fig. 04 CD/LP
221: ultrademon seapunk
220 : eod's volume 2
219 : eod's volume 1
218: ultrademon step into liquid ep
217: photodementia fig. 03 lp
216 : monolith's welcome
215: pierre bastien machinations
214: zwischenwelt
213: mental union 2cd
212: steinvord
etc.

Too lazy to check if this has been posted already (must've been?) and to check in which Vibert track it's sampled exactly, but I hear some Vibert stuff in this (especially in the first 5 seconds, but maybe more?)
