ah ok, earlier in the thread i said that the Walking Dead TV show has recycled/stolen/copied every single good zombie movie trope in existence but they hadn't done the Day of the Dead plot yet of militant people locked in a fortress bossing others around militaristically. SOUNDS LIKE THE PRISON SETTING IS THE NEXT TROPE IN LINE
nah.. that's not really how it played out, it was the most hippie happy utopia part of the story line besides a few really fucked up things that happened, until it ended ofc. but the tv show is a different monster, so who knows.

foundation was a little meh for me. the setting seemed cool enough but you don't get a close enough look at anything or become vested in the characters (at least i wasn't). do the other books expand in more detail or are they just more small veins of asimovs galactic history?
Just finished it recently as well, I had read the rest of the series but not this one. The rest of the trilogy invests more on the characters, I think, but they're all made up of "small veins of asimovs galactic history", and foundation and empire's first half is super boring, they're all hella cool, tho.
the sequels and prequels of the original trilogy are definitely more detailed and character centric.

Overall I liked this, while the Tuss influences are undeniable, it is also true that he takes these elements in different directions, except in Vortexuer which could be called either a Tuss tribute or clone depending on how much you wanna hate.

I'm sad that he died I kinda liked him.
they kinda gave a away what's gonna happen now, shane will try to stage his coup thing. someone will stop him, most likely killing him, will it be carl? will it be prisoner kid? andrea? and the farm will likely go to hell and shit.
