Best to assume so. I can't really listen to the samples because it feels like banging a chick who has a mask on
real life lol
-
Wait till it's released!
-
they are probably all shaking in their boots too because the WARP instructions probably told them to wait at least a month before or something
i cant think of another reason why they wouldn't be talking about it yet unless they were scared
true. although if i were ae, all the promos i sent out would all be totally different and totally fake, creating mass hysteria. then the real thing would release on the original release date with out anyone ever having heard it.
-
also, if all these people have promos, wheres all the promo for it?
they are afraid to leak it, if they get found out by WARP, WARP may take them off the promo list.
it's similar to why reporters didn't speak that badly about George W Bush for such a long time, they didnt want to loose exclusive access to interviews with his staff, etc
i mean where is all the written promo. dont those people get it to promote it? write about it? etc
-
why do bands still announce albums months before they come out anymore?
well isn't it rather obvious why they do that? it's to get the album hyped up to the max so more people will eventually buy it
i know. im just being selfish.
-
it's just an antiquated system that will eventually stop being used. Rephlex knows whats up and i really admire them for having for instant download over 4 releases before they were even announced.
yea, thats how all releases should be. that would eliminate a lot of pirating no? so many times when i get an early leak, im sick of it by the time it comes out
also, if all these people have promos, wheres all the promo for it?

why do bands still announce albums months before they come out anymore? they should have just announced that oversteps is now available on bleep and physical products ship in march.
edit: a twitterer should just be called a twit
-
wow, so a whole lot of nothing happened yesterday huh? this thread is just like an autechre track itself. it has a repeating pattern that mutates and morphs slowly. im just going to assume the hi hats are represented by because there are a whole lot of them...
-
I'm still waiting for that little melody that appears about 30minutes into the Untilted set to appear on a track. You know the one...
lol. i know exactly what you are talking about. you have been on that for almost 5 years now!! haha
-
hopefully that first jam is a track
-
if you choose / want to wait then why will it suck? you can choose not to and listen to the leak
because it will be virtually impossible to not read everyone's thoughts / reviews without caving in to the leak.
then if i do wait, buy the time i have questions, thoughts, et...i will be 2 months behind everyone else.
so does this man its really out there? i really hope this doesnt leak 2 full months before release. that would really suck for those who want to wait...
If it does leak, it would be nice if we pre-orderers were sent our digital files ahead of the CD release. Even if that happens, I may choose to wait for the CD, for the art+music experience.
yea!^ i could go for that
-
quaristice take two
i doubt it.

I thought bleep put it up a little early because of that. No?
-
Oh no. A leak already? I don't want to hear it...what's it like?

He said what's going on is a real-time event unique to that evening, its dependent on the space (and wouldnt translate to a board recording) and it wouldnt be fair to the "fans" who paid to see them live if they released this. He said the improvisational quality of the performance was a special treat for people to hear that one time only, for that night. Personally, I think this statement is basically bullshit in light of the fact that audience recordings so far suggest this set is nearly following the same structure each night. He also suggested that to record it would be to lose the space in the recording, and that would make them sound retarded or something.
this makes me think that sean & rob are both either mentally challenged, total assholes, oblivious as fuck, or totally up their own ass. Unbelievable. The statements may have merit, but gettin all nazi about soundboards for the reasons he said are ludicrous imo. Get a fucking clue. I don't know why this pisses me off so bad. Maybe I am totally off base, but really, this is absurd. Laughably so.
totally agree. there is nothing to lose by releasing them or having people record them, it will only bring you more fans. tell the grateful dead or phish or countless other bands that made legacies by improvising every single night that taping of shows is pointless. there are 10s of thousands of fans who get into them by trading shows and developing obsessions over what version of this is better than some version of that.
by those statements by the sound guy i can only deduct this: ae has more than enough money and fans. please dont start liking them if you dont already.

yeah i just got around to really comparing the 2 (128k original leak VS the 256k) today and it's pretty remarkable how huge of a difference it makes. I can hear a shit load of new detail that was inaudible before
so freaking true. i cant believe i listened to that other one for 4 years! lol. if the 256 sounds that good, wtf does the flac sound like?
i am uploading that may 18th sbd from oakland. pm if anyone wants a link. its delicious.

apparently, AE was not pleased at the leaked soundboard recordings from the Untitled tour. Gl0tch had a long conversation with the live sound guy from the Quaristice tour about why AE was so protective of having aleaked soundboard recording, he claimed that the stuff for the Quaristice tour is meant to be en exclusive special one of a kind experience that couldn't be recreated at home. but the original post Gl0tch made was epic about thsi conversation, ill ask him to repost it.
unrelated: strange thing is though around the time Untilted tour/series of shows was being wrapped up (2007 or so) a soundboard recording of a 2001 Autechre show for Confield randomly appeared on soulseek.
The timing seemed pecuilar, especially because at the time there seemed to be a huge following for the soundboarded 2005 AE show, almost equal to that of Untilted itself.
This 'montreal' confield show recording had remained stashed away for 7 years, but oddly the Montreal recordings i've heard that are not soundboard sound totally different than this. It makes me wonder if AE leaked it themselves, a private in the studio run through of the confield set perahps
edit: gl0tch im trying to send you the rar now, you are not answering
that is very interesting. seems kind of silly to me to be so protective of a live experience. i enjoy the hell out of that 05 sbd. i listen to that more than most albums and it really opened up untilted for me after spending so much time with that set. seems weird they would want to deprive anyone of that.
concerning the 2001 boards, i have 2. one is def widely circulated (may 9th in toronto) but i have another that's from may 18th in oakland. i ' really seen it anywhere else. its really great quality. it starts with some weird heavy metal jam. im pretty sure i upped it on xlt a fw years ago. i will up it again if you guys dont have it.
-
haha, thats someone different than the guy who threatened to kill anyone who took a soundboard recording of the quaristice set right?
i thought ae had an open taping policy. that whole tour, there wasn't one sbd? ah, nevermind. i dont want to grind glotch's gears.
but one better pop up of this new tour!

I met Adam Jones at Autechre's Untilted-era gig when they were in LA. He was kind of taken aback that someone recognized him.
thats awesome. id like to see an ae video directed by adam.

wow a tool discussion in the ae subforum! yes, look into tool kramer!
mody - isis is amazing for sure. i wouldnt say they are better than tool only for a lack of variety. but i do enjoy them just as much
new tool record for sure will not have alex grey. 8 or so years of collaboration is long enough.
tool fanboys are the same as boc. they search for hidden meanings in a whle lot of nothing. difference is, tool puts things in for them. some are jokes, some are serious. like playing the beginning of intension backwards, maynard says to stay in school, listen to your father and mow the lawn or some shit. classic tool. now if he could stop dicking around with pussyfur and record some tool shit damn it!
oh yea. autechre. preordered the other day. got the 24 bit wav because hat jackass in that youtube video told me to.

gl0tch has learned from the best
you can see Gl0tch's fake AE untilted album cover int he newest issue of neural magazine, that did an article on the some of hoaxes we were both involved in.
I'd like to see said article

I find it hilarious that you invaded my ae world and tool world. Years aprt and musically, miles apart.
Well played my friend. Well played
-
That bottom one is what I was thinking of! Fucking lol. Oh man that brings back memories
-
Do you remember it?
definitely. was the tool logo like a razor blade type thingy? it was kind of tech looking and angular. i was trying find a pic to post but i cant find it. there used to be a funny site with all the fakes on it.
