  1. I was just refering to this post, from this thread http://forum.watmm.com/topic/68890-selected-ambient-works-85-92-as-it-was-created/page-2

"There were around 11 C-90 cassettes worth of tracks that Richard and his mates would play in their cars (he made multiple copies for his friends). Some of the tracks (most likely) ended up on CAT023 as mentioned above, and others may have evolved into other tracks... it's always interesting to see what musical ideas and experiments an artist has in mind, and then what becomes commercially viable or worthy of pressing. "

but reading that back, i see you were more speculating, sorry ;)

I wonder if the original Caustic Window vinyl was cut by George Peckham?? I'm pretty sure he's retired but it'd be pretty dope if he was involved in the transfer process. I think Peckham cut almost all of the earlier Rephlex vinyl, you know a porky prime cut....

Yeah, most likely - all the Rephlex stuff was cut at Porky (from 48kzh DAT), but the test pressings were done at 'Orlake', long since closed down.

it says so on the discogs page "Lacquer Cut By – Porky"

i love rabbits, my mates keep telling me i should get one

I've had like 15 pet rabbits in my lifetime, and I gotta say..... Kinda hard. They are super cute, but also, they feel very "wild", in a sense. If you're an IDM superstar and your pet rabbit got into your music studio whilst you were out for lunch, you'd come back, and tons of wires in the room could be chewed through. Photos, letters, wires, my comics and baseball cards, antique flat stuffs (doilies, cloth), etc. But, they can be potty trained after many years-- but even then, the rabbit I had for the longest time could pee in a designated area, but if he was on your lap for awhile, you'd get wet. Tiny poop everywhere.

--But yah, they are super cute. And really friendly, when they don't bite for whatever reason. If you can spend all your time caring for it and training it (unlike a cat, who will want to be on its own to read the newspaper), a rabbit could be nice.

i used to have rabbits in the house. one day serveral of my drukqs photographs (came with the CD) were all chewed up. i do not have rabbits anymore.

I dunno...sounds like the same synth presets were used on every track. the synth tones definitely are not as warbly as before. I want warbly synths...warbles...WARBLES!!!!!! DAMMMITT

exactly, wtf. It makes you remember (if you didn't already realize) what an integral, crucial part of their early sound that synth was. It sounds like they're using different synths, and as a result, they almost sound like a totally different (and much diminished) group.

Yeah I miss their secret weapon.

but in all seriousness, i love the synths on this album. and one particular synth they used in the past isn't the essence of boc.

"same synth preset" comment bothered me. i don't see where you're coming from with that...you're crazy man!

  5. look how inspired, original and creative those track titles are

"Giorgio by Moroder (ft. Giorgio Moroder)"

I usually call bullshit on albums that has lots of (feat. whomever) behind the tracktitles. I fucking hate that. It's a sellout thing. To me, thats an indicator that it's going to blow. I'm prejudiced. Watmm style.

Yeah but look at who they're collabrating with. All people who have inspired them to be Daft Punk.

  6. This is an obscure one, and an absolute gem. Italo meets Kraftwerk's Trans Europe Express if you will.

The same guys who made 'Lectric Workers - Robot is Systematic' and 'Decadance - On and On"
