    Skyfall - 9/10 - Woah, this was seriously good stuff! The excellent reviews and good trailers had me excited about this after the very poor Quantum of Solace. Sam Mendes does a great job of taking JB in a slightly different direction, but still giving fans a (sometimes hilarious) wink to the old JB of the 60s. It is also the first JB to really have him as weak and vulnerable, and up against the (seriously good) Javier Bardem as an equal match (and ex-MI6), that provides a tension throughout the film that has been lacking in recent years. This new direction does mean that the film feels less like Bond and more like Bourne etc, however that's a good move IMO. It rounds the 'reboot' off very nicely with a strong finale, and contains some of the best setpiece action bits from any Bond film (Istanbul, Shanghai and Scotland in particular). Up there in the Top 3 JB's in my opinion, make sure you catch it - fantastic fun.

    i tend to not drink whiskey very often precisely because of that. it's basically distilled fighting.

     

    also, fuck ice. just a DROP of some spring/distilled water makes a whiskey, never have anything else in mine.

    i used to be like that, but now have whisky with one ice cube, as I do like it chilled and you should drink it slowly so that the cube completely melts.

     

    I tend to drink low priced single malts like highland park, bowmore, as well as Jamesons and teachers. Glenlivet and Auchentoshan are my favourites

    Taken 2: 4/10 - Loved the original (who doesn't?!) but where as the original was just the right balance of cheesy action film that still grips you, this was just lazy and half-arsed through-out. There are still some good moments, but the whole film is tired, and massively toned down to make it a 12a which takes all the fun away.

     

    Three Colors: Blue 8/10 - Really enjoyed it, looking forward to watching the next 2. Juliette Binoche is uber-sexy.

    EDIT: fucking hell that really is grim stuff. FIFA should ban Serbia from a tournament for this IMO. It just isn't acceptable and how many fines are they going to dish out before they realise that it's not working.
