How did it go Stocko? Does he press play on "Again" or does he haul out any other hits? Close on "Chrome Country"? I'll see him in 2 weeks but my curiosity is killing me lol.
Yes, no spoil regarding the visual aspects of the show but it was really mind-blowing. The whole show really encapsulates what OPN is about imo and had several jaw dropping moments (in the literal sense, I was really amazed and had my mouth open auite a few times lol.
Music was incredible with most of the tracks being reworked for the show, including the Rebuild versions of Rift era track (I guess ? Did not listen to the bootlegs of the Rebuild shows but they NEED an official release). It also rekindled my love for Again.
Hope you'll have a good time !

Spent the last few hours chilling in le 104 where OPN is playing tonight. The place is crowded by people learning how to breakdance. Did not see Mr Lopatin while I was there drinking a beer. I can't wait !!

I think Paris was more 1/3 hip-hop and 2/3 non stop uptempo slaughter. For real, four or five times during the show I thought "holy shit this is so intense, it's gotta be the end of the show" and then BAM! 5 or 6 more minutes of even wilder beats.
Can't wait for the 2024 soundboards release.
Sean thx, Rob thx

Yeah they had no chill and went full berserk. A very gonky set, or, as we say in France, gonkesque.
De nada @d-a-m-o pleasure is mine

Been listening to that album a bit more recently and it leaves a stronger impression on me than when I heard it the first few times. Still looking for a vinyl copy in my town tho

Hello everyone! I was wondering if someone had any recommendation of eBooks / PDFs on Reaktor that I should read to get started? (besides the user manuals). I know that there are some books written for Max/MSP that foster creative thinking and programing with the environment, and I was wondering whether the same kind of things existed for Reaktor. Thanks!

Album's out ! Currently giving it a proper listen and I am really enjoying it so far. Interesting take on the human vs machine acoustic performance - obvious similar albums that come to mind are CCAI pt 2 and Squarepusher's music for robots, and I think Moran's work is equally impressive, even though it's in another register. "Leitmotif" just blew me away, sounds like a continuation of the Sakamoto x Alva Noto albums.
I just saw that Bleep has a bundle of her 2 Warp albums and I think I am going treat myself some nice piano music

Great read, thank you for sharing !

I think that, besides the pressure to release new material, a subscription system can be a nice thing for lesser-known artists. Death Dynamic Shroud seem to do very well with their exclusive mixtape club thing ! (in France, we also had a big name of cheesy pop music who launched his own streaming platform a few years ago, he releases exclusive stuff on it, perform private concerts etc. - zero interest to me but if you're a big fan I imagine it's something very worthy)
It also depends a lot on the amont of money you ask from your fans. If I were to pay 2 or 3€ / month to support an artist I love, I would understand that there wouldn't be something new to listen to every month.

I am genuinely happy for the people who preordered these tapes, and for Dave who most likely got out of whatever struggle he was into.
The Custom Groove Set tape is awesome, will give the other 2 a listen as well!

I tried to suppress any kind of hype I could feel regarding a potential repress but I'm disappointed regardless.

On the topic of sound design / overall mixing and mastering : to my ears, BUaH and Dostrotime don't sound thin, but they are not heavy at the right places. They sound frenetic but not massive. This is also a feeling I have with older Squarepusher stuff, most notably Big Loada which I like but imo sounds a bit messy. This is especially true with his most break-heavy material.
I guess these choices also help making his albums more unique. JAS has a very specific sound and I can't think of similar albums!

i think the tweet might be the full extent of their 30th anniversary celebration for this album.
I disagree. This celebration is incomplete, as Warp did not post a boring link to stream the album on Spotify yet !

After a first listen I have a feeling that this might be his best album, and will probably become my favourite. It has an overwhelming energy.
Enbounce is a grown-up Paris track and currently stands out for me !!

I personally really enjoyed the album, very solid songwriting imho. It's the first time I listen to a MGMT album in its entirety, I never payed much attention to them before.
Definitely heavy OPN landmark on some of the songs, I guess they made good use of his Juno and whatever. Production on the track with Christine and the Queens is very reminiscent of some tracks on Again (Locrian Midwest maybe with those low piano notes?)

I finally have some spare time, decided to pick Zelda Tears of the Kingdom where I left it in July, then bought the Etrian Odyssey trilogy without thinking, then had regrets spending money on games I probably won't have time to play and finally put more hours in the Binding of Isaac

• Give subscribers a subscriber-only reaction-emoticon and/or subscriber-only reply-emoticon.
This is honestly such a great idea and a good incentive for people to renew their subscription imo. Another way would be to show how many years in a row people subscribed or something like that. It is impressive how it keeps people engaged with streamers for example.

@xxx I'm so glad you enjoyed the show that much haha.
The Zones Without People rebuild is amazing, and so is the Time Decanted one. It was a very vaporwave-y moment for me during the show, as I was sure I knew the track but couldn't precisely remember where I heard it.
On a related note, someone did post the 2 Coachella sets on Reddit. Blur was playing on the next stage so you get to hear Tender on top of A Barely Lit Path lol, but the bootlegs are good quality nonetheless.
