*boner*
eerrrghhh...irritating, disgusting but also weirdly arousing. wtf is wrong with me?
edit: aaaaah! just looked at my avatar...

i heard you guys like strange pictures

remote control is very cool. the whole album sounds like a akufen/ team doyobi collaboration.
-
so.. what are people's favourites?
Mine so far (which particularly stand out upon the first few listens): sunsett everett, trademark ribbons of gold (love that climatic guitar riff towards the end at around 3:45), the murder cycles, seen enough and motions.
This album is definitely a grower. There's a lot going on in most of the tracks so I can see this album being taken in by my brain very slowly; the same way ae slowly creeps up to me over time.
after two rounds i´d say "sunset everett" and "gianasi".

WOW! funky stuff.

newest from Coki

if this thread was tangible i'd be smearing mud and feces all over it
generic, boring and crappy.

anyone else love the chord resolutions towards the end of Treale? something about some autechre tracks...it's like your ears are begging for the chord resolution and when it lands you're just like "fuck yesssssssss"
yep, that´s by far the best part of the album.

I'm downloading the Japanese edition from what. Uploader said it's out on Itunes Japan, can anyone confirm?
no idea, but tell us how the bonus track sounds.
-
I bet the foreshadowing in the interview about how there's more to come in the near future means that this is actually a double album and the second disc remains a complete secret until people actually get the final copy in their hands. Doesn't seem crazy of them to only send out 1 disc for the promo. Yeah, yeah, I know,
so the vinyl version is gonna be 4 12"s rather than 2? i'll believe that when i see it.
i don't think that there are more tracks on the vinyl. but maybe we get a second album, something like quadrange later this year.

Writing about music is like dancing about architecture, after all.
haha, that´s good.
-
It's actually quite "next level" the whole tone and pace of the album is definitely something different - but it's VERY very good. Trust me. Keep listening - if it doesn't sound good, You're doing it wrong.
this sounnds like silly fanboy gibberish, but it´s true.
-
not only the crossfades. it sounds too compact, the reverbs don't really work, no depth etc. compare the quaristice reverbs (maybe on plyphon) with the leaked oversteps sound.

couldn`t
shift+# -> '
oh, thanks.

no, but the radioshow was german.
again, i wrote that many times now: this wasn´t played on some shitty internet-radio-station. it was aired on "radio fritz" a channel of rbb, a radiostation based in the berlin area with ~5 million people. the djs were editors of germany two biggest eletrconic-music magazines "de-bug" and "groove". they even said in the show that they got warp´s permission to play oversteps tracks.
so if there are still people saying that the m4a is a fake, here is a message for you: go get yourself new brain fucktards. /hug
Heres something you could do with a new brain:
Imagine the possibility that Autechre sent out a promo that didn't contain the songs that will be on Oversteps?
Fuck, that couldn't ever happen could it?
no, it couldn´t. because why should warp send out faked promotional copies to the press? magazines had to review the fake stuff and the customers would buy a completely different product. i think warp´s marketing deprartment sucks, but they wouldn´t be THAT stupid. btw. 123 you american by any chance?

(samples here)
It's also a bit shite.
oh, what a surprise, the leak wasn´t a fake *yawn*

Sean, why did you create/why did WARP release a fake Ae album:
Quaristice
BIGQUESTIONMARK
ignore him sean, he´s german. what do these people know...

that said, there are a few tracks on this album (pt2ph8, redfall, krYlon and yuop seem a little noodly upon first, second and third listens) that i don't quite 'get' yet, though pretty much all of confield was like that for a while until i came back to it after not listening for a year and it all made sense. perhaps some of these noodly generative sounding melodies actually make more sense once you memorise them? i dunno.
it made "click" for me yesterday and i finally grasped the oversteps ending (redfall, krYlon and Yuop). i came back from the gym rinding on my bike in the dark and it suddenly hit me. as you said, you have to memorize the weirder parts to "get" them. this is definitely a grower.
-
so it's actually possible we're listening to 2 different m4a "leaks", and arguing about them?
i don´t think so.
-
...firt album by Ae that i can comprehend after only 2 listening.
nah, you didn´t come back after 10 more rounds.
-
what would the internet be without all the drama?
-
Autechre should take some tips from Clark about how to make something sound very dirty and very very loud *runs*
it isn't a bad thing
it is.
