  1. how is socialism an "idiotic one size fits all solution"? do you even know what it is? it's worker control of the means of production. I thought on this very page we just went over how the current controllers of the means of production, the owning class, have been controlling it in a way that literally caused climate change over the past decades
  2. people often have problems of "[not being able to stop going on about something]" and you've spent pages discussing "about" me rather than explaining why im actually wrong which i think u shud reflect on. maybe you are wrong and i'm right. i think you drastically underestimate the evil perpetuated at this very moment by capitalism through its lackeys the owning class capitalism is the resource allocator, the labor allocator, the labor consumer, the labor value upward distributor, capitalism controls every aspect of our lives at a level so deeply intertwined into our reality that we don't even think it's there anymore if we have sufficient privilege to ignore it. could it maybe be that climate change is caused by capitalism? could it maybe be that the sequence of events that led us to climate change were caused by capitalism? look at cars in the US, once they became popular car companies lobbied the government to scrap old electric trollies, and they did it. imagine if they said fuck off and expanded them, and the same happened in every country, and cars were an oddity. one issue causing climate change solved, but capitalism forced us down this individualist path
  3. >eerily aligned with early 20th century communism Not very eerie, I am literally a communist Anyway you think you are different? Pushing liberalism. I differ in what I'm saying so you say I'm "repeating it" or "pushing it". Are you not? Just because you believe in the status quo? If you focused more on what I'm saying than how I'm saying it your posts would be more constructive
  4. this is what happens when you have nothing to complain about but you want to make yourself into a victim
  5. climate change IS capitalism. they aren't separable. climate change is a multi-dimensional "hyperobject" [https://www.hcn.org/issues/47.1/introducing-the-idea-of-hyperobjects] one perspective of which IS capitalism, the dynamic system generating the environmental changes that themselves generate climate change in numerous unrelated and interconnected ways
  6. this is not about happiness, it's about making sure everyone is fed, clothed, housed, educated, provided healthcare, has democracy in their workplace, and has a government in place that meets their needs and does not allow an owning class to try to take control of the means of production, and climate change is solved, but for real, no BS carbon taxes or whatever happiness is very vague, I don't care if people are "happy". make of this what you want, I'm sure you will interpret it very negatively. but happiness is not something you can legislate, only material reality is which generates that happiness. poor people will be very happy when they get free commie block apartments to live in finally, yes
  7. please don't get me wrong, I wish I could have faith in electoral politics and I wish I believed we could just vote for the right people collectively and our various problems would be solved. it appears however, to anyone paying attention who is being honest with themselves, that this is not a solution at all, and that they simply will not let us do that when we vote, there is no option to vote against billionaires. if we try, like with Bernie Sanders, a lukewarm social democrat, they will simply use their massive privately owned media apparatuses to make it appear that he's a joke of a candidate and that Biden is the obvious choice to beat Trump. provide your alternative idea, what is it you think can solve this if not socialist revolution? what is your alternative? surely not bourgeois electoral representative "democracy"?
  8. a peaceful overthrow will result in reactionary forces starting a civil war rather than abdicating their throne peacefully. you think that's the fault of those trying to achieve progress, rather than those perpetrating violence? isn't it weird that you're defending a political economic order which you just admitted would become violent and murder civilians if people tried to take control to solve the climate crisis among other things? not only that, but you admit they have no intention to solve climate change, and we know this will essentially kill millions of people and constitute genocide under a regime of effective eco-fascism. revolution is unfortunately required. https://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/mao/works/red-book/quotes.htm A revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another. “Report on an Investigation of the Peasant Movement in Hunan” (March 1927), Selected Works, Vol. I, p. 28.
  9. why? to appease the ghosts of the bourgeoisie who wrote that we need their buy-in in their documents?
  10. so well said, the absurdity of our situation that inevitably comes about from electoral bourgeois representative democracy. do you see biden doing shit? no he isn't either. that's what we get when we elect the bourgeoisie, because they can just move somewhere where the weather's nice and buy food from somewhere else. the real world doesn't affect them. in other words, they are disconnected from reality we need proletariat leaders. who are doctors and scientists? wage laborers. >The bourgeoisie has stripped of its halo every occupation hitherto honoured and looked up to with reverent awe. It has converted the physician, the lawyer, the priest, the poet, the man of science, into its paid wage labourers. https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1848/communist-manifesto/ch01.htm you asked, why don't doctors or scientists lead us? It's quite clear, they are wage laborers, their labor time is exploited and they aren't able to practice their profession as for example "global health doctors" or someone who takes authority to save the earth from the bourgeoisie destroying it. only the proletariat are capable of being scientific. and achieving a scientific form of government: scientific socialism with aims of it leading to communism. only socialism can save our earth from the climate crisis, it's quite clear capitalism not only has no capability of saving us, but those who run it, the owning class, have no intention of even trying.
  11. using crypto a scapegoat for texas's systemic energy grid problems caused by privatization and profit motive is a joke and i see it done so often. yeah, crypto mining is somehow the problem. maybe the commoditization of electricity through private markets is the problem. clearly the solution is for the workers of texas to seize control of the means of production and turn off electricity for these crypto miners against their bosses' wishes
  12. get the oil industry to accept its doom? who constitutes the oil industry? those who own the oil means of production. no one is at the wheel? the owning class is at the wheel. this is class warfare
  13. the massive propaganda surrounding everything from the ghost of kiev to the fucking goat of kiev and western backing of the continuation of this war so they can sell weapons reeks of bullshit and human slaughter on a mass scale, there are no good sides especially not the corrupt ukrainian dictatorship which refused to surrender to putin's terms which were basically "stop perpetrating war against donbas and crimea and don't join NATO"
  14. i think you should also ask what motivated the ukrainian state to perpetrate war against russian border regions for a decade even cutting off water supplies to crimea which russia promptly turned back on again after invading ukraine. putin wanted to play hero liberating these regions and ended up with a bigger war than he thought. US+NATO back it as anti-russian proxy war and zelensky is stuck between domestic nazis who will kill him if he surrenders and nato who does not want a peace deal. just because the ukrainian people are the biggest victims here who need the most consideration does not mean the ukrainian state is not malicious and corrupt even in this scenario
  15. 4:45 extremely disturbing "consider it my duty to warn those who are about to fall into a pit that the path they are on leads suddenly downhill" combined with his later invocations of Nazi germany in a comparison to trans affirming surgeons. he's talking metaphorically but given that Nazi germany literally used mass graves to store their murder victims including LGBT people it's extremely tone-deaf and bordering on Nazi dog-whistling
  16. I guess you prefer not being called out on having not studied you're talking about?
  17. he comes off as a stereotypical dad complaining about rap music and kicking their gay kid out of their house in other words, an absolute loser, who somehow rose to fame through manipulating social media to get attention for talking about every random popular topic and stoking reactionary hate towards oppressed groups
  18. marx is anti-utopian did you even read him. what utopia were you thinking was coming lmao?
