well, its the modulation amount for the filter cutoff. so you set the cutoff with the main knob, and then you can modulate the cutoff with the smaller pitch knobs, with a modulation signal. the small knob controls the amount of modulation

oh, Im not even talking about morphable waveshapes. I just mean different combinations of waveshapes between the LFOs produces interesting results.

 

ok, here is a short clip that I just let run free on the G2 demo, I recorded it into logic, and added a hint of EQ and reverb.

Ive been thinking about the Sequenator patch there ever since I posted it. It's pretty rough in this form, the keyboard splits don't cover the full range of octaves so there will occasionally be "Rests" where the random number generated doesn't correspond to any of the octaves. I think I could redo it using compare to levels actually...

 

If (level from s&h) > X then output goes to two logic circuits that are "ands" for allowing control and gate signal to pass through.

 

Then just do a long chain of these.

 

There would have to be an "active" channel, like a mixer on the side that gets signal only when the "true" statement is found on the if statement, that would let the others know not to send signal out to open their gates. it can be reset with a flip-flop logic gate every time the reset pulse from the sequencers kicks off so that will be empty for the next cycle.

 

I will work on this.

Well, if anyone is still reading, I dabbled a bit with that yesterday but didn't get very far. I instead just made the existing one span across all note ranges in the keyboard split modules.

 

I also ended up making a simple little "BOC introarizer" that basically just spouts out an everlasting BOC intro. Ill post that up later this morning.

Ok so here's my BOCerlude, err BOC Introerizer, I don't know. To me now it sounds more like the aimless BOC interludes. Very... aimlessly pretty. I don't know. In my mp3 example there's a healthy dose of delay and reverb, and an 808 BD with a loooooong decay adding even more ambiance. Enjoy!

i got myself a nord modular g1 two weeks ago and i've been cooking up some patches,

and since this thread turned into a nord place anyway:

 

here's one i made yesterday:

it is a filter, for processing audio input, based on a six celled one-dimensional cellular automaton..

the rules are loosely based on conway's Game of Life, but can be changed by changing the logic-predicates of the logic-proc modules (those are bound to the first two rows of frontpanel knobs).

 

whenever a cell becomes 'alive' (state=1), the value is stored in its respective S&H module and when the module is triggered, a corresponding envelope is gated thru which incoming audio is passed into a filter. six of those envelope/filter-combos are connected to each of the six cells (= S&H modules). except the 2nd env, that one is kind of the linear rhythmic backbone, being triggered by a more-or-less steady pulse from an eventseq. that same eventseq can also reset the first cell when the switch in the topleft corner is turned on.

experiment with different filter and envelope settings, and try changing the logic predicates on the fly with the frontpanel knobs..

I've been working on making patches that are kind of like self contained feedback systems, and are constantly changing due to the random processes that are happening within a defined range and function. So, knowing what the defined function is, you can make small tweaks to the system, and it will evolve in a new way. Its like guided algorithmic composition, or something.

 

Anyways, here is a patch I made. This recording is basically a single note drone, with me changing a small setting here and there, to make it change course from its current defined random settings. It's also EQed and compressed slightly, and has convolution reverb on it.

im playing around making big patches in energyxt, it's fun to do machinated stuff in there. like you begin with one really simple basic idea and it kind of blooms up around that. nice way of working, but i don't take it very serious. just messing around.

hey no problem, i just built a generalized nondeterministic finite state machine using the ε-transitions of the powerset constructions with a amortised boyer-moore string search algorithm utilizing a backwards richard controller suspended in iced lava tuned to the metric tensor of my pseudo-riemannian manifold, hooked it up to my nord patch, and this is what it sounds like:

yeah it could use some mid-range eq'ing around 740hz, but i can't be arsed right now, have to fix my theorem concerning flat minkowski metric of the model lorentzian manifold.
