A lot of it's just to do with the samples I use, but I'll often boost frequencies the 40-80 Hz region for my kicks. A lot of the time I'll combine several samples together for extra punch. I was going for an older, nostalgia-infused kind of sound towards the start of the track, which is something BoC does really well.
