England 23

Boxing Day

Rio's hardly a waste. Not at his best this past season for sure, and probably never will be again. He's still a better central defender than mmm I'd wager 90% of them in the premiership.

I don't mind G. Johnson, he's just kind of inconsistent, but getting better. I dunno who else capello picks though. Neville? Old cunt but he does have the experience (even though I think he's a cunt, proper cunt right), will he get out run though? Seen it happen in the premiership, ol Gary pumping his legs and huffing like mad whilst Torres or someone blows past him. Wes Brown? inconsistent and makes some terrible reads, and slow. Micah Richards will be great, but christ he's young.

Nuts to dropping Gerrard, he is a workhorse with excellent vision who can be very dangerous in the air (as well as having a cracking volley). Milner's good, possibly great. Not there yet though.

I'd love to drop Heskey, but my pick would be Agbonlahor (did I spell that right?). I know he hasn't scored as much as he could, but I would love to see him play up front with Rooney. Fuck the speed of those two, with their desire to work? Scary scary for defenders.

Rooney has played brilliantly as lone striker all season, theres no reason why he cant for England with Gerrard/Milner behind him.

of course not, but 4-4-2 with proper wingers is much more exciting to watch than 4-5-1.

Play Milner on the left and either walcott/wright-phillips/lennon (foot race to decide the winner?) on the right.

loverly.

very true, but Italian managers aren't renowned for that style of swashbuckling football, which doesn't necessarily win you games.

i would imagine he will end up chopping and changing the widemen, looking forward to seeing what squad Capello puts out for these (two?) friendlies coming up, hopefully Adam Johnson can get a good run out

also, just found this which is a bit of a giggle

These tossers will show us their uselessness against Mexico tonight. It's on ITV1 at 7:30 anyway.
