Top 4 Liverpool? Thats quite optimistic. Gerrards probably going to leave from an accumulation of world cup, shit last season and step-sister impregnation. What did Torres tear/pull last night? Is he making start season? Hodgsons a good manager, but he builds from the back forward, I reckon in 2 years he'll have assembled a brilliant team, but it'll be a long 2 years.

I have a feeling about Arsenal this season. Wouldnt put any money on it but =)

Realised i got my genealogy all wrong, should read sister in law. I made it sound worse than it was, which is quite of an achievement when talking about an England player.

Top Four: Chelsea, Tottenham, Man City and Man U (just, with a cheeky injury time win on the last day)

Relegated: Blackpool, (just, with a heartbreaking injury time own goal on the last day.... not that i love drama or anything) West Ham, Wolves

would like to see arsenal do well, even win it, but they'll fuck something up most probably and lose it one cold january night with many gloves on.

would like to see blackpool stay up cuz holloway's a decent manager, but they won't.

don't see liverpool going anywhere higher up than this season without a) keeping both gerrard & torres and b) spending at least £50m... one of which ain't gonna happen

edit: damn english

Actually i'm unsure about West Ham, what with Avram Grant as manager.

They'll do alright if those slimey owners of theirs don't interfere with the football itself

I think that this will be the year that the top two teams end on the same points and goal-difference, and the matches between the two have to be taken into account. There'll be mass-hysteria.

Top 4

United

Chelsea

Arsenal

Man City

Liverpool & Villa for UEFA spots.

Relegated

Blackpool

West Brom

Wolves

I think United will just edge it this year as injuries to our defence pretty much cost it for us last season and although Arsenal and others had injuries, none of them had players like Carrick & Fletcher playing so out of position. Also got 5 or 6 players who will really come into the fray like Valencia & the Da Silva twins. If Berbatov can start finishing some of his chances we'll be laughing and Little pea will hopefully come good with a fit Macheda to strengthen our attacking options. Defence is still worrying especially with Rio & Vidic getting injured too frequently. We're fucked if they both miss out again as Evans is still not good enough to secure his place (although getting there), Brown isn't good enough anymore due to his injuries and Smalling is way too inexperienced. Still optimistic though.

I think Liverpool will unfortunately do well with Woy and the team he has, especially if this takeover talk is done and dusted before the window closes, although thats hopeful on their half. Still not got enough to cut it big 4 though. Love to see Everton go beyond them but with their cash problems it isn't going to happen.

Be very interesting to see how Newcastle fare and if Coyle can actually make a difference with Bolton now he has a proper go at it. Sunderland & Wigan have made some good signings too and could get into the top half. I expect Tottenham to get to the CL group stages and totally capitulate, with Harry crying about the amount of games when their form plummets. Heres hoping.

I know, unless I bet big money it's completely worthless. I just really fancy us to nick it this year. I think Chamakh could be the missing link in our attack and Van Persie must stay fit for a whole season at least once, surely. Also, if this is Fabregas' final season at Arsenal I reckon he'll go mental like Ronaldo did and double his value.

Maybe we'll be in a shit position at Christmas and the odds will drop, then I'll think about it agian.

I hope liverpool do fuck up, never liked them and last season was very satisfying to watch them get pwnd. also i hope man city finish mid table.

Totterham hotspurs i really hope they do well in the euros.

its a bit of a lol how villa havnt signed anyone, but then again. looking deeper into it, they have a lot of good youths coming through the ranks, and i think they'll keep milner as well. cant really fault them too much last season apart from agbonlahor's dip in form when they needed it the most. but still, best game of last season was villa vs blackburn in the 6-4 thriller.

touche Chris. We only finished about 60 league places above Bournmouth last year. That's how bad we were! Much improvment needed.

Flash Harry has got half a job to have a good run in Europe i think, most likely at the expense of a decent Premier League campaign. They'll have a decent pop at it but I don't really think their squad is good enough currently

City on the other hand will just keep on buying up the top players so they can't play against us

Liverpool I think have much more than people give them credit for. Hodgson has got his job cut out, but at least it looks as though the boardroom turmoil is over

Hodgsons done a brilliant job at just keeping the core of the team togther. Looks like Mascherano might be going, but they won more games without thim than with him last season. Just need to sort out the Ngog problem and theyll be sorted, Kuyt was an excellent finisher at Feyenoord, then Benitez played him on the right, just move him center and problem solved. I reckon theyll keep city off 4th.

Im at a stag in the Isle of Wight this weekend and im missing the first game of the season =(

I'm a United fan and I've a girl staying the weekend I met at Sonar in Barcelona, and its her fault I missed 5 days of World Cup action. I need to formulate some plan to fool her into watching the football :whistling:

You can see the Liverpool squad coming together really, Mascherano will probably leave but for a good amount of cash which can be invested elsewhere. They definately need another striker though. I'd like Spurs to do well in the CL league but I can't see them getting beyond the group stages. The Qualifying teams don't look easy to be fair but they should beat whoever they get. Suprised they haven't offloaded Keane & Jenas yet.

Some Bolton fans on the Guardian reckoned they were going to get top 6, one even claiming he put £500 on a 40/1 bet. Gotta love blind optimism.

Mascherano is an overrated dirty hack anyways. Good on Hodgson for keeping Torres, but yes they need another striker, desperately. Ngog leaving should mean they're in the market.

Hernandez looks promising for us, and hooray for Park scoring two!!

Pics? I've always imagined that the women at Sonar are goddesses.

I knew her before and she's from Scotland so it doesn't really count. You're not wrong though.

Managed to get the football on at home anyway. Was actually "busy" when Valencia got the first, pretty epic :whistling:
