Akai make surprisingly crap consumer electronics compared to the pro stuff. Correctomondo the cd changer doesn't work. Hell that whole thing went bust years and years ago. The tape decks have just about had it too. I think one plays but doesn't rewind or forward though one can still record. Thats probably my fault as I should have put tape cleaners in it over the years. You can see below under the desk is my consumer electronics cheap as chips Goodmans record deck; thats obviously hooked into the amp on my hi fi - so it does have some uses. Actually its an Aiwa. Ever since, when I'm mixing a record, I always ask myself, "yeah, it sounds good in here, but how will it sound on a $300 Aiwa with Mega Ultra Bass Boost?"
